Fun but difficult and slightly confusing
Feb 2017 • Friends
We did the Resistance room. We found it very challenging and didn't manage to get out in time. Definitely the most difficult escape room we've ever done and we've done quite a few! We felt like some of the puzzles were overly complicated and that we didn't get enough hints. This is probably a good room for a very experienced escape room-player, but not for a novice. There's was a nice touch of acting in the beginning though, the staff was really nice and friendly.

Mission Accomplished
Oct 2016 • Friends
Celebrating a birthday with a group of friends, we wondered what kind of experience we would have at 60 Minutes to Escape. We were all new to escape rooms, and we ended up being paired with another group of novices. From the fun, relaxed host to the interesting scenario and the intriguing set, we were favorably impressed. Everyone contributed and the suspense mounted as the minutes dwindled. We solved the puzzles and completed our mission just in time. I highly recommend this event!

Team building event enjoyed by all!
Sep 2016 • Business
I brought a group of 10 people to do the "Spark of Resistance" room at 60 Minutes to Escape for a team building event for work. Everyone had a wonderful time! It was challenging, but not overwhelmingly so. Very well thought out and creative, and the room kept us on our toes until the last seconds. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun corporate team building activity, or a night out with friends / double dates, or for families with older kids. I hope 60 Minutes to Escape will have another room soon so we can come again!

We went for a family gift at Christmas and we had a great time! We didn't get thru all if the clues, bit it didn't matter. We felt great for how many we did solve! Much more fun if you take your own big group, but fun getting to know strangers as well during the escape.

Super fun time!

We had a group of 8 and we all had a blast. Puzzles were hard enough to be fun but not so hard as to be frustrating. And the people were so easy to work with to arrange an off-hours visit for our group. I highly recommend this for people who like games, puzzles, and having a good time.

I bought tickets for a Father's Day surprise. I read many reviews and this got the best in the Portland Oregon area. The greeter was so much fun and made sure we knew all we needed to have the best experience - but gave nothing away! We had a fun group of girls that were part of our group, and they were smart! We quickly formed a great team and ......didn't make it out! But it was sure fun trying! Fortunately, the host comes in afterwards and showed us the clues and successful exit. We had a blast!

Very Interesting!

Like everyone before me I cant spoil it but, it was fun and something very spontaneous for us! My family and I were in Portland for the weekend and decided to try out the escape room. We had heard of escape rooms thru friends and family but, never real truly thought of ever doing one. There were 5 of us, Myself (37), Wife (34), 2 Boys (14 & 17) and Daughter (7yrs Old). The family absolutely loved it and my daughter does not stop talking about it and has told everyone we run into about this escape room. This room left a lifetime memory in my families time line and for that I am forever faithful. The puzzles and whole plot was very thought out. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is...

Very Challenging and Well-Themed Escape Room
Mar 2016 • Couples
This was our fourth Portland escape room, and probably my favorite of the four. The design was well thought out, with a variety of puzzle types. It was very immersive, with everything matching with the theme. However, this is a challenging room with a relatively low rate of escape. I can't imagine anyone doing this within 60 minutes without getting at least a few hints. If you enjoy escape rooms, you'll have a great time.

It was only two of us to attempt the escape. After we booked, they let us know it would be tough for only two people, and offered us the option to join another group at a different hour, reschedule, or go ahead as a 2-man team. I personally prefer doing escape rooms with a known group, so we went ahead. We fancy ourselves as pretty good at escape rooms anyway, and have a couple of room records under our belts.

At the end, the host said we were the only 2-person team to make it out, though in reality I think we were about 60 seconds over the time limit. Still, very challenging and enjoyable. Lots of new and different puzzles/clues/tricks that I hadn't seen in any of the other escape rooms I've done.

I would recommend teaming up with more people. With just two of us, it was tough to conquer all the clues. We ended up getting quite a few hints, but without them we would not have made it halfway through. According to the host, everyone gets hints. I believe it. 6 people is probably about the right size to have everyone doing something, without anyone just standing around.

If I were to do it again, I'd join up with another group. The only problem with getting matched up with randos is that it could be a couple of experienced pros, or a group of kids. I've done it before, but find it frustrating. I don't want to take away from the kids' first-time experience, but I also want to solve the clues and escape the room, especially since it costs me the same to do a room alone as to join up with 7 other people. I prefer the European style, where you book the room at a fixed rate, and don't get forced into a group. One of the other escape rooms in Portland offers this.

Overall, a very well-conceived room, with impressive props/puzzles that worked well, with the exception of one lock which was pretty temperamental. I'd recommend the escape room change it out. We probably lost a minute just jiggling and pulling before it finally opened. This is not a run-of-the-mill room with nothing but a bunch of combination locks. This room obviously took a lot of time, effort and thought to put together, and it shows.

Word on the street is that more rooms are coming. Date and theme: TBA. Looking forward to it and will definitely check it out.

Escape room experience: 4 countries, 5 states, for a total of about 15 rooms.
