Portland Walking Tours’ fun and award-winning events explore the excitement, history, food, architecture, neighborhoods, bridges, parks, fountains, artwork, and just plain weird places in Portland Oregon. Tours include the award-winning “Best of Portland,” showcasing what makes Portland such a fabulous place to live and visit (daily, 10 AM and 2 PM); our scandalous “Underground Portland,” aka "the worst of Portland," revealing both the physical and metaphorical subterranean story of Portland's sordid past; the eerie “Beyond Bizarre”, a hands-on exploration of Portland's paranormal, using real ghost-hunting equipment as seen on shows like "Ghost Adventurer" (TM) and "Paranormal State" (TM); our delicious “Epicurean Excursion” walking tour, a tasty immersion into Portland's amazing culinary "slow food" scene; our indulgent “Chocolate Decadence Tour," exploring and sampling chocolate in its many solid and liquid forms, from bean to bar and everything in between; "Roses Gone Wild!", which dishes the dirt on Portland's famous International Rose Test Gardens; and "Flavor Street," where you taste the best of Portland's incredible food cart scene - and skip the rest.

Even though I've lived in Portland for several years, there's a lot that I don't know about my own adopted hometown. With visiting family, I decided to do the Best of Portland Walking Tour, a 2-hour meandering stroll through downtown Portland which starts at Pioneer Courthouse Square in the tourism office and ends at the Willamette River. My cousin and... More

Went to the Bizarre Portland tour with my 12 year old .. so the 7 p.m. one. There were several kids in the tour. Mixed in with the interesting history were stories about prostitutes, strip clubs and public nudity that I would have rather her not heard .. but its cool, I know its part of the history. There were... More

Alison lead our tour and she was fantastic, full of energy and really loved what she did - she designed the tour as well. I would recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys history, walking a tour with a twist! I wish we had more time in Portland I would have done some of the other tours as well.

Most of the tour was above ground (only the last few minutes was in the basement of the building). The tour was VERY interesting with LOTS of historical information about Portland around 1880 to 1905 ish. Even though it wasn't underground, thoroughly enjoyed the tour (the guide was great) and would definitely recommend it.

It was nice to walk around Portland, and it was fun to get spooked in the dark basement, but as for ghosts, we did not encounter any....maybe our energy wasn't enough to summon them.....

The tour we went to was full of knowledge and Josh the tour guide was very friendly and knew his stuff. However the only negative thing I will say is Portland does have a dirty side and though it is full of history there was a bunch of homeless and very creepy people. Do not go alone! If anything I... We did a walking tour that emphasized the seedy history of Portland. Of particular interest were the tunnels, the horrors of human trafficking, and the harsh treatment of Japanese Americans in WWII. I learned a lot and material was presented well by the tour guide. My teenager also enjoyed the tour and said he was glad we took it--high praise... More

Not literally underground (mostly) but the story of the rough and ready place Portland was at the turn of the 20th century. Fun and interesting and a great taste of Portland. Highly recommend.

I did the Best of Portland tour with Alexis. It was very fun and informative. Wish I had longer in Portland to try some of the others!

My wife and I only had one day to spend in Portland. A walking tour, narrated by Dianne, was the perfect way to begin our journey. Dianne is confident, knowledgeable and entertaining guide with a true passion for her city. Starting at Pioneer Square, we walked and talked for two informative hours, ending at the Tom McCall riverfront park. Highly... More
