Portland Walking Tours’ fun and award-winning events explore the excitement, history, food, architecture, neighborhoods, bridges, parks, fountains, artwork, and just plain weird places in Portland Oregon. Tours include the award-winning “Best of Portland,” showcasing what makes Portland such a fabulous place to live and visit (daily, 10 AM and 2 PM); our scandalous “Underground Portland,” aka "the worst of Portland," revealing both the physical and metaphorical subterranean story of Portland's sordid past; the eerie “Beyond Bizarre”, a hands-on exploration of Portland's paranormal, using real ghost-hunting equipment as seen on shows like "Ghost Adventurer" (TM) and "Paranormal State" (TM); our delicious “Epicurean Excursion” walking tour, a tasty immersion into Portland's amazing culinary "slow food" scene; our indulgent “Chocolate Decadence Tour," exploring and sampling chocolate in its many solid and liquid forms, from bean to bar and everything in between; "Roses Gone Wild!", which dishes the dirt on Portland's famous International Rose Test Gardens; and "Flavor Street," where you taste the best of Portland's incredible food cart scene - and skip the rest.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 hour guided tour or Portland's Old town & Chinatown! Our guide, John, was very knowledgeable and entertaining! This was our first time visiting Portland and we never knew about the "Shanghai Tunnels" or that a political underground existed! We learned about Portland's sinister past, corruption, scandals, and shady characters. As part of the tour we... More

Find out what makes Portland wonderfully weird beginning with the 1972 plan that revitalized the city by extending views, saving old buildings, and creating a world class transit system. Our guide, Richard, peppered our tour with interesting tidbits (how to recognize a true native, statue sweaters, the coin that determined the city's name, scenes from the TV show Portlandia) while... We booked 4 adults on the Beyond Bizarre Tour in downtown Portland two days after the election! I know what you guys are thinking, how was the Anti-Trump Protestors? Haha... From booking to the end Portland Walking Tour as a company excelled! David and Tori was helpful in our booking, Tori was efficient and friendly while David was very reassuring... More

My husband and I took the Best of Portland Walking Tour on a Saturday recently and found it VERY enjoyable. Brian was an excellent guide and knew so much about the city history and he made the story of Portland past and present come to life as we walked. The architecture of the city buildings was fascinating and we appreciated... More

Went on the history of Portland tour; it was a bit hard to hear the tour guide but it wasn't too bad. Good sized group; learned a lot of interesting historical tidbits about the city. The only thing that was a bit deflating was that a couple of the buildings were no longer there and the tour guide just had... More

This is the second time I took this tour, but it was as interesting as the first. Brian was able to provide many additional facts I did not know about both the history and folklore of Portland. The 2.5 hour tour goes by quickly and the walking was easy. If Portland is a city you already like, knowing more about... More

Having been to Portland a zillion times, we decided to try something different. Boy this was different and fun. They meet underneath Pioneer Square in a little room. Could have been better marked or better instructions, but she found it for us. We had Damion who was a talker, which is what he's suppose to do. Very knowledgeable on everything.... More

Kevin does an awesome tour. He is very entertaining and knows his stuff in depth. The tour itself is fascinating. You learn tons of stuff about the history of Portland. The anecdotes are exceedingly fascinating. It is definitely worth taking.

A nice introduction to the center of the city even though our group had more than 50 people. (It was a beautiful day and he does not require reservations). The tour starts on time, across from the visitor’s center and he spoke for about 5 minutes. The guide was pleasant and at times funny. He gave selected histories of the... More

We were visiting Portland for the first time and I always check new vacation destinations for their local walking tours. My wife is an admitted chocolate-a-Horlick, so I thought this would be fun and interesting. Dianne was a wonderful and knowledgeable hostess for the tour. She gave us lots of side history about Portland along our trip. The chocolate was... More
