The view is underwhelming, and there really isn't much to do up there other that snap a pic (you arrive at a hospital).
The fare isn't that expensive so its not a big loss, but not really worth the time.

Simple Aerial tram ride from street level up to the hospital/university. Small fee to be paid but only on the upward journey. On a clear day the city and river are beautiful but little point if visibility is poor.

We had seen the tram as we drove around Portland, so we decided to take it up to the top and back. We had a magical view of all of Portland with Mount Hood looming like a ghost in the clouds in the far distance.
