Forget trying to get any help with your tickets & dont forget the ear plugs!!
Dec 2019
First off, their customer service sucks...wait,do they even have customer service????!! I emailed 5-6 times and called a few about my tickets, since it was my first time there and wanted to know about entering from THE LAMP next door if we ate there...So,I DIDNT eat there, but learned after I picked up my Will Call tickets and walked to end of the OTHER line around the corner....Our line of over a hundred + started to move and then you find out there is a line of about 10-15 heading in the OTHER door....!
But whatever,I expected a General Admission concert was going to be a mad rush for seats.....and thats the biggest reason I'll never go back....WTF...rows are lettered, not really hard to sell an actual seat rather than having to stand in line over an hour and be herded in like cattle.....
As far as the actual venue...its old and dirty, and not upgraded in years, but Old is good...dirty isnt, and the food at the connession stand looked terrible...
So now onto the actual show...and thinking cant really fault the venue, but maybe the Group playing....and as others have said..DAMN...TURN DOWN THE FREAKIN MUSIC..!! Its a SMALL venue,NOT A STADIUM..!! I like my music loud, but this was Ear Splitting and so distorted you couldnt make out half of the songs or what lead singer was saying....TERRIBLE..and my ears have been ringing for 2 days now...NEVER AGAIN..

Great old venue . Great warm sound.
Oct 2019
I was at the Aladdin with an artist performing and i have to say from the very helpful and accommodating staff to the charm and warmth of the theater it was a truly pleasant experience . The sound in the old but well kept venue was superb and the lobby had delicious offerings for the concert goers . Laid back but professional music venue is the best way to describe the Aladdin .

One of Portland's Best Venues
Jun 2019
If you are local or are planning a trip to Portland, be sure to check out the Aladdin Theater. I've seen a number of shows here over the years and I've never been disappointed. It is a great little intimate venue, a former movie theater that transitioned nicely to mostly music but other entertainment as well. There really are no bad seats at all. They have a very good concession business but the best food option is dining at The Lamp, which is connected to the lobby of The Aladdin - get it "The Lamp" :) - which also entitles you to a little bit earlier entrance and to avoid the long outdoor line for the general seating.

Casey Abrams concert
Aug 2018 • Couples
I have been to shows at the alladin and always had a good experience. But, I also have a level of expectation from the bookers at the establishment. After attending shows at this venue, or any venue, it is fair to expect that they will not book shows that are cynical and only performing for the money. I don’t expect that I should enjoy every show at a venue, but I do expect a sincere commitment to music from all acts. Casey Abrams and the opening act (I don’t remember the name) have made me reconsider attending shows at the Alladin. I have not been back to the Alladin yet and I will carefully consider any act before I go back.

Old Time Theater With New Talent Acts
Oct 2018 • Friends
We thoroughly enjoyed spending the evening at the Aladdin Theater to see a comedy act. It was like taking a walk back in time with the historic architecture. It was an experience taking it all in while waiting for the show to begin. It is a smaller venue so every seat seemed to have a good view. The shows that the Aladdin feature are varied in style and audience. I'd highly recommend it!

The attached Lamp restaurant has changed for the worse. The recently eliminated happy hour on concert nights, and they no longer allow ticket holders to enter the show directly from the bar. They make you go outside and enter through the main door, where you won't be allowed in with a drink. I wish the waitress had told me this before selling me a beer to take with me into the show! If I go to another concert at the Aladdin, I'll eat and drink elsewhere beforehand.

General show tickets and Uriah Heep
Apr 2018 • Solo
I bought a ticket to see Uriah Heep here. It was a general ticket so I figured I would get in line and try to get a good seat close to the stage. I did. A seat in the front Front right in the center.

But the big surprise to me was that the floor space between the front row and the stage was a large area of floor. Turns out at general ticket shows that area is also up for grabs. So when the light wend down for the band to start-- I moved out of my seat and right up near the stage. And what a Great show it was.

Uriah Heep has not played Portland in 30 years. And they put on a fantastic show playing plenty of classic songs as well as a few new ones. These guys sure can ROCK. Best show I have seen so far this year!

Experienced Storm’s Holiday Ordeal and so much more here
Nov 2017 • Solo
The Aladdin Theater is an excellent classy live venue in the Brooklyn neighbourhood out near the east end of the Ross Island Bridge. It has a distinctive classic neon marquee that harkens back it its historic days when it opened in 1928 as a Vaudeville house. So it has seen decades roll by as it went through its changes from Vaudeville to movie house, to adult theater, and finally to its current state as a penultimate live music venue.

I have experienced Storm Large’s Holiday Ordeal and so much more here at the Aladdin Theater.
Storm has played here during the Holiday season for a couple shows each year for over a decade. And I can’t think of a better place for here to perform her unique show that mixes music with humour narratives in between that frequently turn into a bawdy laugh-fest.

My first memories of the Aladdin Theater go back to when it hit some hard times back in the 1970's. It was an adult theater back then. And the Marquee always seemed to have “DEEP THROAT” listed up on it year after year. That title must have perched on the Marquee for 14 years I hear. I wouldn’t know for sure as I had left Portland in the mid 70's and returned in the 1990's to find that the Aladdin was now reborn as this amazing music venue having unique bands or members from great bands doing solo tours. Acts you didn’t think you would ever have the chance to see like Magma, The Zombies, The Irish Rovers, Justin Hayward from the Moody Blues (who will finally be inducted in the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in April 2018) to name just a few.

Yes, The Aladdin Theater is a great place to go see some excellent live music concerts and stand-up comedy shows. But it can be a nightmare to go get something at the concession stand. Always seems to have huge lines. So don’t lose your seat... so be smart and bring a friend– and send them off to get your drinks! Or do your drinking before the show at its attached bar--The Lamp. It is right next door and has a marquee topped with a little smoking genie’s lamp.

Great Place to See a Show
Oct 2017 • Friends
If you are planning a trip to Portland, you should check the upcoming events for Aladdin Theater. I've seen a number of shows here over the years. Tickets are usually reasonably priced. It is an intimate little theater that seats about 600. Which means there isn't a bad seat in the house - including the Cry Room. The lobby has concession items including some food and drink. For more options there is a bar attached (The Lamp).
