King Fader Laser Vision
Sep 2018
On the first Sunday of the month King Fader has a free night of Laser Vision at Beulahland. He performs live laserdisc mixing from 8 PM to Midnight. He mixes it up a bit with various different things to keep it fresh. The type of things I saw were music videos, chase scenes, and some concert footage. I was returning home from the Dahlia Festival in Camby when I noticed that it was approaching 8 PM and I was in the area. So I parked nearby and walked into Beulahland and chatter with King fader saying since I was at the Dahlia Festival I just had to come here and see the former Dahlia Band Members. He pointed out Keith sitting at a table close to the mixing desk. We chatted for a while. Soon we were joined by The Infamous CoatCheck Girl and a man of mystery. And that’s when things really got interesting. The evening was taking a few unexpected twists and turns. But the main focus was clearly up there on the screen. Under the creative control of King Fader. I must admit that I enjoyed the laser videos he was manipulating. And visiting with people I hadn’t seen in a while. And Beulahland is kinda the CHEERS of dive bars. Where everybody seemed to know my name. I drank the finest of cheap beers– Rainier. I admired the bat hanging under the lamp at the bar. And eyed the pinball machines and Photo booth as I walked to the loo to return my beer. Andy of course I had to pay my respects to the statue of Mary in the front window by the entrance wearing a sports scarf. I also watched the large glass globe revolving slowly on the turn table that had a growing stash of tips inside it. It is a FREE night. So that was the tip jar for King Fader. After King Fader showed a Twisted Sister concert video I asked him, “Do you have any Motorhead videos?” Sadly he didn’t. Man that would have made my night. But he did have some cool videos. And the chase videos were rather comical. So I had a good time even without seeing Lemmy up there on the screen.

They have a pretty good menu of well prepared food located in a restored store. The food. Is pretty good and filling and people both working and eating here are very low key and cool. They have good egg dishes and oancsjes
