Half-Day Columbia River Gorge and Waterfall Hiking Tour

23 reviews
The 80 miles of the Columbia River Gorge’s steep rocky sides offer some of the most spectacular scenery in the world: pounding waterfalls, eagles, century-old trees, ferns, flowers, ancient rocks. This half-day of exploring and meditating on wonders with very short hikes and visits to overlooks and vistas will have you gasping in awe.

We'll visit waterfalls and overlooks, selected by our guides to include both the most iconic, like the unmissable Latourell Falls, a stunning plunge-style falls that is one of the most iconic in Oregon, and the special. Depending on weather conditions, this could include a few small hidden waterfalls and another spectacular plunge-style falls with columnar basalt.

We'll also tell you stories, not just of the geology and botany and the oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and animal spirits and the Beaver princess tragically turned into a waterfall.

We sat outside (the inside does have a lingering smoke odor). We had an amazing nachos appetizer, followed by their superb lamb burger. I also had their own Irish stout— by far the best I’ve ever had.

I dropped in here for a few whiskeys last night and again this afternoon for a Guinness. The place was busy on Friday, but reasonably quiet on Saturday. Good efficient staff and a fun crowd. They pour a proper pint and have a very extensive range of whiskey. Well worth visiting.

A great Irish Pub and a fun place to spend an evening. The music is great and sets the mood. A good selection of ‘pub grub’. Servers are friendly and quick in a fast paced environment.

Was looking to watch a little football and smoke a cigar on Sunday. Kells cigar room is open whenever they’re open. Got a front row seat for the TV in a well ventilated downstairs cigar room which has a small but functional humidor. Drinks are reasonable as in most Irish Pubs. This room was part of the Shanghai underground tunnel system that linked the port to the city. Cool historic vibe with plenty of space for you or your group.

We stopped in on a quiet Sunday late afternoon for a beer. Great Irish atmosphere and friendly bartender. As it goes, one beer lead to three which was advantageous. Just before 7pm musicians began to come in. Shortly we were treated to wonderful Irish music. A wonderful experience.
