I would highly recommend this golf course especially the back nine it's like walking through a park and the greens are in spectacular condition roll very true and easily readable for the good golfer I would recommend the blue tees otherwise the whites for the average golfer highly recommend this course for the condition and the value

A friend and I played 18 here on June 12th. We enjoyed the open layout (as occasionally we'd be off the fairway). Easygoing staff, good grounds, friendly. Nicely located right downtown, about 12 minutes from our hotel.

If you are visiting Portland and want to play golf but don't have the private club connections this probably should be your first choice. Pumpkin Ridge gets the accolades (it is really quite a ways out of town though) but this is a classic parkland course that should get much better national press. Huge trees line the fairways, clever and deceptive visuals, subtle but tricky green complexes. Designed by H. Chandler Egan (he was a spectacular player, had a hand in many NW classics and was a quiet designer of Pebble Beach) this course has stood the test of time and when tricked out can be a monster. Now the but . . . driving range is a joke, the staff who has the concession from the city is not the most friendly nor do they seem interested in making your day a bit better, pace of play can be glacial and frankly the funding probably isn't there for fine conditioning. If it was this place would garner $100 in most states. And this is what makes me sad because this is such a fine golf course yet really it's caretakers and the city seem to not really care. Still, if you have 1 round in PDX, it should be here.

If you like old golf courses, this is for you. Parkland course built (I think) in the 1920s. A hidden gem. Designer was H. Chandler Egan, who had a significant hand in Pebble Beach, among others. Course was updated some in the 1990s to host the US Publinx Championship. But the design has not been altered much, if any. Good conditioning.

Course is conveniently located to me but NOT female friendly. They need to revamp their management team - time for some retirements. Course is very nice but pace of play is often painfully slow.

Hi gang,
I heard Eastmoreland was an old classic course so I had to go. I found out it is almost 100 yrs old. The fairways are getting a little narrower due to the trees maturing. Course condition was very good, staff friendly and helpful. Once again I had the pleasure of following a group that didn’t allow me to play thru. Only after they stopped to grab some vittles they offered to let me go ahead. A 3-some invited me to join them on #11. It really helped as they gave me playing advice to enjoy my round, thanks for that.
I really appreciated the history and nostalgia of a mature golf course. Driving thru downtown Portland didn’t go well but I’m glad I went.
If you want to appreciate golf design from the past then definitely play here, you won’t regret it.

I played here several times with the Portland Golf Meetup. The course is in good shape and has several challenging holes. Pace of play has been good every time I played here. Staff is very friendly and you need to check out the grill. Very good selection and quality of food. Even stopped here once for a lunch break.
What's so great with the new Max-Line just a few hundred yards away you can even take Public Transportation to get there

This excellent public golf course was designed by two-time U.S. Amateur champion H. Chandler Egan (who was also asked by the USGA to re-design Pebble Beach ahead of the 1929 U.S. Amateur). The golf course is a shot makers paradise: tall tree lined fairways, undulating greens and challenging par 3s.
Private country clubs around the world die to have this layout.
And the clubhouse restaurant is excellent.

Love getting out to all the local courses. I would say this falls somewhere in the middle in relationship to others in condition, layout and pricing but if your a golfer that likes to see other courses, well worth a visit.
