My daughter moved to Portland 8 years ago. We enjoy visiting each individual McMenamins locations and have been to about 10 now, including sites in Washington. We especially love the soaking pools. Last Friday, Jan 18, 2019 we flew into PDX, picked up our granddaughter...More

Did not actually stay here but spent a couple of hours with a co-worker who introduced me to the place. Short ride from PDX makes it very convenient for a layover. It is about 20 min from downtown, depending on traffice. An old school converted...More

We thoroughly enjoyed the very creative environment. Watched a second run movie in the "auditorium" while enjoying beer and tater tots ... TATER TOTS :-)... while sitting on comfy secondhand seats and couches. Loved the "Detention" smoking area. If we stayed longer would have enjoyed...More

We watched the recently-pulled-from-theaters flick Ready Player One. Movie tickets were cheap, food and beer prices moderate. 2 people with 1 beer and sandwich apiece was $45. The theater is flat (not tiered), with rows and rows of couches and tables. When you buy your...More

If you ever have doubts about what is possible, visit one of the McMenamin sites. Each was once a forgotten public structure, now brought back to life with entertainment, history, food and brew. Some have places to stay or watch movies or hear live music....More

Traffic is ridiculous in Portland. Use public transportation.
