Lovely campground
Jul 2019 • Couples
McIver is one of our favorite places to camp for a quickie close to home. We like the deep campsites and that there are a lot of trees and vegetation between sites. There is only one loop for RV sites but it is nicely maintained and there are several trails for hikes.

Park was beautiful and clean
Jun 2019 • Couples
We attended the Beaver State Fling ( National Tour Disc Golf Tournament).

There was lots of great places to view the golfers. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean for the number of people in the park. There were many picnic benches that did not require reservations. We saw many people with fishing gear, boating gear.

Under normal circumstances I heard but can not verify, there are only 9 holes of disc golf, but they lay out 36 for the tournament.

Friends who camped out at the park, commented on the great price and there was even a Movie in the Park night.

With all the golfers and spectators (plus the parking spots blocked off for safety reasons, the parking situation frustrated a few non-golf related visitors.

Spring Campout
Apr 2019 • Couples
Excellent campground close to town. Quick to drive out on a Friday and back home on a Sunday or preferably a Monday morning. Reserve early or plan to visit on weekdays because weekends fill up in advance.
If you fish or boat, Estacada Lake is right there to enjoy.
It is fun to visit the Fish Hatchery and learn more about the process used to protect the local Salmon and Steelhead population.
If you play Disc Golf, there is a large course.
Great hiking or horseback riding trails also available.

Oct 2018 • Couples
If you play disk golf this is a must, well thought out holes, well maintained - well everything! Where else can you play 18 holes and then get some fly fishing in!

Best Kept Secret
Jul 2018 • Couples
With its proximity to Portland, this park is a great weekend escape. Nice disk golf course, hiking trails, and river access for floating on hot days.

Peaceful, clean, best of Oregon State Parks
Oct 2017 • Couples
So glad we came here in the fall. Great sites, flat, private, water & electric. Great places to walk dogs. Disc golf park above the river. Nice clean bathrooms and showers. Great Park Hosts. This place has it all and 30 mins from Portland.

Nice place
Aug 2017
We didn't have a reservation and were able to get a first come/first serve place. It was a great secluded spot. Park is beautiful and located in gorgeous location. It was a bit of a walk to bathroom which was fine for our family. Only downside is how many people we're playing loud music, some really inappropriate for our family with younger kids. I don't like listening to music in nature/campground and I don't like being forced to listen to others' music. Many of us asked them to turn it down. They would...then it creeped up again. It was quiet at quiet hours so I guess there is that.

Great for a short get away.

It was a clear night and could see lots of stars you forget how beautiful they can be when you live in the city. Nice walk down to the water. Also the view point had pretty views of Mt. Hood .
