This is a beautiful golf course just outside of Portland. It has many challenging holes with elevated tees and greens. You won't find a prettier setting anywhere!

Thanks Camastown! I see it's been a long time since your review. We've made loads of improvements and changes since then, I hope we can tempt you out to try and earn your five stars this year! All the best, hope to see you again soon, Callum

The Clubhouse renovation and Remodel was completed this past Winter. A full bar and kitchen produce great hot dogs, sausages, pizza, turkey ham and roast beef sandwiches, fries with dipping sauce, and beers on draft.

The Clubhouse has all new furniture both inside and on an expansive patio overlooking the ninth fairway.

The course is in great shape with a Marshall encouraging people to keep up the pace. We did the 18 in 4.5 hours with a ninth hole stop for a dog and beer.

A beverage cart is available as you play.
The greens are in great shape. Fairways are mowed along with a short cropped rough. The creek that snakes through the course does attract a lot of balls so bring extra for that mulligan😀

This is a nice course and the people behind the counter are friendly. There is a problem with the new/change ownership. I am not sure what is going on, but our group/senior rates have gone from $34.00 with a cart to $56.00 with a cart. ??? The Scappoose golf teams and the St. Helens golf teams are not welcome to practice or host tournaments at Wildwood. (Unless they "PAY" big time) This is a significant change from past practice. I was told that they have the best rates in the area. Not factual. I am personally disappointed with the new/change management of the course.
Even the employees are privetly saying "I don't blame you if you don't play here anymore."

Returned to play on May 6, 2017 with another Honolulu buddy. The course was in great shape even after the heavy rains over the past couple of weeks due to their drainage system. Pleased with the consistency in customer service, this time not by Bob but Tom, a retired school teacher from the area. We're planning another trip back up there to play in October 2017!

My business colleagues and I from Honolulu played here today for the first time. We were a little skeptical due a few poor reviews. We were glad we played there and would definitely play there again. Exception valve and great staff, especially Bob.

It's been almost 2 years since I was here last time. The first time we were followed for 3 holes being pushed. We were only 3/4 of a hole behind the group in front of us. What bothered us was there was no one in sight behind us at all, completely unnecessary. This time it was a complete pleasure, 4:12 pace, course was in great shape. I'll definitely be back

Thanks for taking the time to give us a balanced review spongebob. It's a tricky balance at times trying to value the time of our golfers by keeping pace flowing, and obviously on your first trip here we pained too hard. We've made a lot of improvements round here this winter and would love to see if we can earn your five stars this summer! Hope to see you soon! All the best, Callum

One of my husband's favorite golf courses in Oregon. He went here with two other guys and played the front nine on Father's Day. Their tee time was at 10:30am, and the pace of play was too slow. The greens are nice. Beautiful course with views of Mt. St Helens and Mt. Adams. It's located on the outskirts of Portland near the town of Scappoose.

Thanks for the feedback. Father's Day is our busiest of the entire year so apologies that you found the golf to be too slow - we try really hard to keep the balance right - you can see from other posters that some golfers dislike being told to pick up the pace too! Interestingly, Mothers day is our quietest of the year, quieter than thanksgiving or Xmas! Hope we can tempt you out again. All the best, Callum

I don't know why anyone would not
Like this golf course. It has a new clubhouse/pro shop with great patio with view. Limited food service is available, hot dogs burger and pizza, until the new kitchen is installed.
The golf course is on a mountain side with steep fairways and high greens. It is challenging but beautiful.
If your ball goes into the woods or high grass out of bounds ,!you can kiss it goodbye.
The sneaky creek water hazard is another ball grabber.
While some people in good shape walk it, I highly recommend a golf cart.
The back 9 is a better course .

The "pro" shop here is staffed by a real jerk. He made my wife feel foolish for bringing her clubs in the shop. She doesnt know what she is doing, trying to learn the game. He thought he was being funny. I tried to joke back but he made some comment that it takes all kinds. Really? Totally unprofessional. Also the guy tried to keep my credit card with him to rent my clubs. He already had my driver license. I told him that's illegal any more but he tried to tell me it's the law. lol

The course itself is a joke. They have planted trees to try to "bend" the holes and provide interested to what is basically a swamp between two clearcut slopes but it's just silly.
The fairways are weedy and the balls dont roll on the greens they hop over all the little bumps.

I see no reason to play this course when you Heron lakes 15 minutes away or any other course.

Thanks for the feedback ColonelPanic, and can I apologize for the way you describe you were treated. I notice it's been a couple of years since your post but if there is one thing we try for here is to make everyone feel welcome, especially newer golfers who we really want to take up the sport. We've made big changes here to the club, course, and staff over the past couple of years and I'd like to invite you to a private conversation to see how we can make things up to you. I hope to hear from you soon. All the best and thanks again for the feedback, Callum
