Nice little park
Aug 2020
Nice place to stroll, bike, rollerblade, etc., down by the Willamette River; launch a boat; have a picnic on some grass (mind the geese!); walk your pup; and probably more activities that I'm not even thinking about.

walking, boat dock, seating, grass, biking... fantastic
May 2016 • Solo
Willamette Park holds a boat launch, paved walking/biking trails along the river, bench seating and plenty of grass to sit on as well.

There are play structures for children and geese to delight or frighten you...depending on how you respond to geese.

This is a great park for a lunch break/walk. And a great park for taking in some sun.. when that shows up. :)

Great walking trails
Jun 2012 • Family
So enjoyed the leisurely hike on the paved trail by the river. Lots of bike riders but all of them were polite and attentive to the walkers. We watched the Sailing club members quickly launch 20 sailboats. Very nice unmarked bathroom at the far end of the park. The park was clean. Must pay to park but they have an hourly rate or all day rate.

Great climbing tree
Jun 2012 • Family
We stopped here to finish out our day before heading back to the hotel. Great trails along the river, large grassy areas to play catch, frisbee, relax. Nice little playground and 2 huge evergreens near it with awesome branches that let the kids climb pretty high they are are so well spaced. Our kids had a blast climbing up and down. If you have children who like to climb trees (or never had but want to try) this the place for you!

Get there early if you want to park your trailer!
Apr 2012 • Friends
Great launching spot for your boat but get there early if you wish to park your trailer. Remember to pay at the station near the bathrooms as well. the pay site is pretty well hidden if you don't already know to pay you may well wind up with an expensive ticket. I was a very fortunate out-of-state visitor who got there early and noticed someone else inserting their card. Oh yea, bring a card, no cash accepted. Park is otherwise a very nice spot for a picnic, sports, etc. Parking is the only issue.

Lots of potential...
Maintaining the park is a must. Last visit there was garbage all over the place.

Willamette Greenway walking path is wonderful!
Willamette Park is in the John's Landing area and is easily accessible by car, Trimet bus, walking or cab. The lush park area and adjoining walkway are perfect for walking the dog, walking, bird watching or an excellect place to watch fireworks! The pathway begins at Willamette Park and meanders along a paved and maintained walkway, parallel to the historic Willamette River. The park and city offerings along the way are perfect for a daytime excursion, whether to enjoy the morning sunrise over Mt Hood or to experience the aquatic activities of the river. There's plenty of bird-watch and water life to entertain you and offer some amazing pictures. You may wish to stop for a picnic or get a bite to eat along the way. A large grass area in the park allows for play structures and frisbee tossing. The entire family would enjoy this park-something for everyone. There is also a boat launch for fishing and water sports. A great park!
