This church is located in the middle of office buildings, so seeing a church itself was refreshing. I could not get inside since it was closed, but the exterior was looking beautiful.

Beautiful choir at Mass at 10am today Sunday 28th July 2019. Felt goosebumps listening to hymns that I've heard and sung all my life. But the way they sang was beautiful. The gospel was a good listen and chairs well organised with knee rests. A small church but a well organised and involved mass gathering was a pleasant view on a bright Sunday morning.

I visited this church to attend mass, and if that is why you are here I would highly recommend it.
If you just want to pop in or say a prayer, it's a very good but limited site. The church sits near the University and is right next to much of downtown. We were staying near Washington Street - we could have taken the light rail with ease, but chose to walk (which was easy).
The church appears to have been recently innovated, with chairs instead of pews, limited ornamentation, and lots of white, which highlights the bright stained glass windows.
It's a pretty church and I would say it's worth stopping by if your are in the neighborhood, but it's probably not a "tourist site" per se and I wouldn't go out of the way unless you are looking to attend a service.

St Michael the Archangel Church is a Roman Catholic church that was build in 1901. It has 15 stain glass windows that were made by the Povey Brothers who made many stain glass windows for many of the older churches in Portland. These windows are classic looking like Tiffany lamp designs.
There is an image of Jesus standing behind the alter with arms spread in welcome. An image of him as he was as a man before his crucifixion and resurrection-- with no nail marks on his hands.
The Church is close to the Portland State University Bookstore and is easily accessible via public transport. The Portland Streetcar and MAX Light Rail are within walking distance.
Sunday Mass is held at 8:30 AM, 10 AM, and at 7 PM.
Weekday Mass is held at 12:05 PM.
