We enjoyed exploring the neighborhood. The Alberta Arts District emerged as one of our favorites; we enjoyed the many local business on Alberta Avenue, including some great art stores and home stores. Lots of good coffee available, too. The street art on the sides of several buildings was compelling and offered wonderful messages of social justice and compelling photo opportunities. This neighborhood is definitely worth a few hours when visiting Portland!

Alberta Street was a food and street art gem. Lots of varieties to offer from street food to cafes to small eateries with Ethiopian, Nepalese, American, Mexican and more. Little shops with a mix of clothing to unique souvenirs and art work. Plan to browse for a few hours.

My husband and I are new to Oregon. We live in Salem and we haven’t checked out Portland yet, so I used trip advisor and I found Alberta st. It’s a great tourist place to walk up and down to have a bite to eat and a drink. There are a lot of ethnic restaurants to choose from, Sushi, Thai, Hawaiian, Iraqi, Mediterranean.
The vibe of the street is really cool and the shops and artwork are worth the drive. So we will definitely come again for a drink and dinner.

This is a colorful neighborhood in Portland, rich in art galleries, bars and restaurants. For someone who truly wants to experience and embrace Portland's unique and vibrant atmosphere, I would highly recommend a visit to Alberta District.

One of my favorite parts was seeing the community murals displayed mainly between the 14th and 30th Avenues. An online walking map for Finding Street Art helped me discover all the paintings in the neighborhood.

For a good rest after a long walk I would recommend Caffe Vita, which welcomes you with the irresistible aroma of in-house roasted coffee.

Another thing I truly enjoyed was strolling through the quiet, welcoming residential area surrounding Alberta street. Everywhere beautiful cottage like gardens, with unique decorative displays, a glimpse into the heart of people who keep Portland wonderful.

Alberta St. Neighborhood in Northeast is fun for shopping, art and dining. A real eclectic, funky feel. My favorites were Salt and Straw, exotic homemade ice cream and Bollywood Theatre for Indian food. Worth an afternoon to get the real feel of a Portland neighborhood.

we went all around the city and this was our favorite spot. The mix of eclectic restaurants and shops is perfect for a short trip to Portland. We stopped in quite a few places and they were delicious! The street art is superb and it's everywhere! plus there are great food carts throughout

Much of Portland's counter-culture and true art scene is located in poorer parts of town. NE Alberta St. is a popular place for locals who prefer a bit rawer and more unique art scene, and not so fancy and glitzy culture of the Pearl distric on the other side of hte river. Alberta is filled with many fine coffee-shops, restaurants, art installations and galleries. The street itself is not that spectacular but the "content" of it is what counts and that's the main draw. i prefer it to the pear district and glitzy NW Portland because it's also not so pretentious and it's much cheaper. Beware, that some of the bars and restaurants in the area are perpetually busy so you may end up waiting for a long time to get a table. the best way to visit and explore it is on foot or bike. forget the car.

With around 20 blocks of shops, restaurants, bars, hair salons there's plenty to see on Alberta street. We started with some tacos at Nutri-Taco, stopped bye the Trade-Up music store to check out their guitars, shopped for clothes, and I even got my hair cut. There were no chain stores that I saw and it was refreshing to see so many things that are unique to Portland. We covered from 12th to 33rd ave ( probably best to start in the middle somewhere ).

We went to the Alberta Street Fair when we there in August. There was an amazing assortment of restaurants, bars, and entertainment available. Very entertaining and a delightful afternoon was had by all.

We were lucky enough to visit the Alberta Arts district on August 11, the day the 21st Annual Alberta Street Fair was held. In addition to the regular shops in the area, there were also many interesting stalls selling everything from arts and crafts to pet adoption. Parking is free and easy to find despite the crowd on that day if you are willing to take a short walk. There are several restaurants and other shops, but I am not sure if they will be more interesting than the shopping in downtown Portland if we went there at other times.
