My dad and brother and I went out 2 days with Dave. Dave did a incredible job at loading the lines, line angles, bait selection, efficient boat loading and unloading. He knew the hot spots for sure! Day 1 caught over 30 3-5 footers and day 2 landed a 10ft and 8 ft monster. Incredible trip

Dave did an incredible job putting us on the fish. You can tell he's an expert at his craft, knows the waters, baits, and techniques needed to catch fish in the Columbia River. Wether you want numbers of fish or a fish of a lifetime he can put you on both. We caught almost 40 sturgeon between 3-5 feet day 1 and caught a 10 foot 500lb+ sturgeon and a 8 foot sturgeon day 2 all before noon. Incredible trip and memories.

We had an awesome morning of fishing the Spring Chinook Salmon run. We met Dave Maroon , our guide at Dalton point, there was a second 2 person group in our boat. We started fishing with bait, then switched to spinners when we were not getting bites. Dave obviously knows his stuff! We had our 5 salmon limit around noon.

I fished with my three boys last summer with Dave. He would yell at the kids when they lost fish. We ended up quitting early because I nor the kids wanted to be degraded by Dave. The area is great. Other guides in the same area seemed much more friendly.

I have fished with Dave many times. I have always caught fish when I have fished with Dave. Dave is a good guy and a good teacher and a gentleman. I don't know what happened on the trip for the previous critique that rated him poor. The 3 young boys may have been in personal danger, not taking advice from the guide, or damaging equipment. I don't know. But, the critique from my experience is not representative of the great job that Dave does. If you want to catch fish and have a great time doing it, call Dave.

Our family took a fishing trip with Dave for sturgeon at "The Dalles" and we can say it was "The Best" we could have hoped for. I've never caught fish this large as we caught 6 (2 small and 4 large) during the 3 1/2 hour trip. We caught 4 in the first 1 1/2 hours and took a break where we swam at a beach to recover. The large fish definitely make you work. It took over 45 minutes to land the last fish, which was over 8 1/2 ft long!!!
We never waited long for a bite and spent most of the time landing fish.
Dave did all the prep work with the bait along with the rods and reels. He was very knowledgable and helpful. None of us had any experience catching the fish in the area, so we appreciated everything he provided.
Recommendation: The girls in our boat ended up getting in the water to have a picture taken. Might want to consider wearing swim suits based on your group. Boat was nice and roomy and easily handled the six of us. Highly recommend Dave for any fishing trip he offers--plan to use again.

My wife and I fished with Dave last week for keeper Sturgeon and could not have been happier with our experience. It was the best fishing experience we had ever had. We caught 30 sturgeon weighing between 10 and 80 lbs. The biggest one was 5 1/2 ft long. Dave was friendly, knowledgeable and we look forward to fishing with him again the next time we are in the Portland area.

We fished for sturgeon with Dave and limited out after a few hours--there were 5 of us total. We caught some very nice big fish. We also caught some we had to throw back. We had a great time and after we were done Dave gutted and cleaned out our fish. Made the fillets ready for packing. Highly recommend.

Me and my wife Regina have fished for salmon with dave on 3 different ocassions.We limited out each time.Dave is a great guy and full of knowledge.Would not hesitate to go out with him again.He has a great attitude and is very helpful. Rich B.

Dave is a great guide to fish with. He works extremely hard and seems to love getting his clients into fish. He will share techniques and knowledge to help you learn how to be a better angler. Dave is very patient and fun to fish with. I can't wait until I get to fish with Dave again soon.
