Great Halloween Show
Oct 2018 • Friends
Since 2010, the BodyVox dance company has offered a Halloween special called “BloodyVox”. Great fun and well worth going, and the full theater told me that I’m not alone in thinking that.

For Dance Lovers, BodyVox is TOPS!
Apr 2016
We are so fortunate to have BodyVox Dance Center in Portland, OR. I have gone to many of their performances. All of the shows have been great, and I have never been disappointed. The one showing currently (April 7 - 23), called the "Pearl Dive Project", has a new approach to dance. They have chosen Portland artists, musicians and innovators who have had no dance experience to be the choreographers (examples China Forbes of Pink Martini, Carlos & Raffaela Kalmar, and Clark James, to name a few). Each and all of the 8 performances by the various choreographers was fantastic, set to excellent music and of course performed by the brilliant, amazing dance team of BodyVox. For anyone who loves dance, I highly recommend the outstanding performances at BodyVox. If you go once, you will surely want to go again!

What a Kick!

My wife purchased tickets for "the Spin." I was not all that excited about going but went along, I must say this was a real treat! Fun to watch and the dance team was 1st class.

Innovative, always fresh and interesting

I was surprised to discover this dance troupe right here in Portland. We're relatively new to the area, and continue to discover pretty amazing talent. Similar to (and with experience from) Pilobolus, Momix, and others, their venue is small, tickets affordable, and dance continually clever, accessible and fun.

A new treasure found.
Oct 2014 • Family
My son chose this on a whim & it was the right one. We had a wonderful time here for Halloween. I love the smaller venue. It was more intimate and personal. The dancers were amazing. The show they did was splendid to watch and in parts had us laughing. Loud enough to hear everything, but not so loud to hurt your ears. It's wheel chair accessible. Can't wait to see what they will do next.

Extraordinary Modern Dance
May 2012 • Family
Portland is one of the more cultured cities it's size in the country featuring great opera, symphonic music, theater, ballet and dance of all forms. A particular jewel is BodyVox nearing the close of their spring performance "The Cutting Room" showing in their NW Portland performance space. If you have not seen this yet and you care anything about dance, get on their website and grab some tickets. The uncharacteristically splendid weather Portlanders have been enjoying may mean seats are still available. The show is several original choreographies and films celebrating great films and film genres. The evening twists and turns impossibly between graceful beauty, whimsy and hysterical humor. Baked goods and beverages are served before, after and at the single intermission. That part of town features some terrific restaurants for before or after. Try Blue Hour, Paley's Place, Wildwood, or Cafe Mingo.
