I had always heard about people getting "shanghaied", but this tour really shows you what happened and lets you get a better idea of what happened and why and how it was able to happen so easily. There is so much information shared, much of it from first hand accounts the organization has gathered. It also shows you more of... More

Portland known for many things one being it's motto of "Keep Portland Weird". Well, the Shanghai Tunnel Tour falls into suit. Although it has some interesting information, it didn't really live up to our expectations of the "paranormal activity" some in our group had hoped. More conspiracy theory driven. I did however learn important information on human trafficking (horrendous), and... More

This was a great tour. There were not to many tunnels but we did get a lot of history about Portland and what the old tunnels were used for.

I took this tour solo in summer 2012 on the last night of my business trip. It was super cool! And older man led the tour who I believe was a close friend of the man who did all the excavation work to make this tour possible. He was full of amazing, crazy yet believable stories about the history of... More

A must do for history buffs. Learn about the sordid history just beneath your feet. Did you know it only stopped because of WWII? Unbelievable. Try to get the combo ghost and history tour. The guides are extremely knowledgeable. Can't wait to go back and see newly opened section.

Interesting tour of Portland underground. Wish the tour had focused more on the history instead of the haunted aspect. The tour guide was very thorough. Sad that so many others dismissed the tour. It is part of the city's history and well worth exploring.

The net: this was epically stupid and is a waste of your time and money. == First, the tour was very poorly organized. We showed up at a (weird, empty, dark) bar in downtown Portland, where we were checked-in by less-than-polite people and told to wait. After waiting about 10 min., during which we watched the workers fret and argue... More

Portland's own version of ghost hunting gives you a fun and historical glimpse into the dark side of the city's past. This tour was featured on Ghost Adventures and several other shows on the Travel Channel.

A group of us took this tour and were mildly impressed. You could tell the tour guide has done this many times as he was nearly racing through the narrative. Talking so fast some of us has a hard time absorbing the stories The "tunnels" seemed limited more like a basement and you really didn't walk that far underground. At... More

If you are interested in a glimpse into the old days of Portland, it's not a bad way to spend 90 minutes and $13. No you do not travel through miles of tunnels but I do not think it is a scam either. ( reading the other reviews) To me the most interesting part is that the opium and human... More
