About
A Great Oregon Wine Tour is a locally owned company that specializes in educational tours of the Northern Willamette Valley, The Columbia Gorge and the Oregon Coast. Our objective is to educate everyone on all things Oregon from wines to Waterfalls and the scenic coastline while keeping it entertaining. We will discuss the formation of the Willamette Valley, wine grapes grown here and the different styles of wines that are made. We have personal relationships from many winemakers that we have nurtured over the years that are second to none. Thanks!

We recently went on a wine tour with our excellent driver and host, Camille. She did an amazing job catering the trip to our likes and helped us, a couple of novices, to really enjoy and get the most out of the number one thing we wanted to try while in Oregon on a holiday vacation. Absolutely recommend contacting her or her husband if visiting Portland and interested in checking out Willamette Valley.

NOLAN!!! you know, when you have fun people in the van, the tour is bound to be good. I'm glad you two enjoyed the day I put together for you. Being new to the area I wanted to take you to wineries that were all great of course but each different from the other. Each with their own philosophy on farming practices and wine making. I hope it left you with a sense of who we are up here in the Pacific Northwest and that maybe one day you will come back and let me share some more of my favorite places. Happy New Year! Beautiful Wineries, Awesome Tour!

We had a ladies outing from SE to the Dundee wine area. Wayne picked us up at two different homes, was punctual, friendly and prepared. He chose 3 wineries I had no knowledge of which made me a little nervous. We were so impressed! Each winery was special- the wine was good, the scenery ranged from bucolic to majestic. And the customer service was on point.

Wayne went out of his way to make the day memorable. He supplied a gourmet picnic lunch procured from a local grocery. He’d made reservations for our rather large group of 11 considering co-vid restrictions.

Wayne has a friendly demeanor and clean, nice looking van. It was a great choice for our outing!

A Great Oregon Wine Tour worth the trip every year

Just returned from our 3rd straight year of wine touring with A Great Oregon Wine Tour. Wayne and Camille’s knowledge of wines and history of Oregon enhances your tour. The tastings are very intimate and many times meeting the wine makers themselves. On recommendation by Wayne that we explore a different area this year we experienced Hood River. As always Wayne & Camille made this year even better than last year if that is even possible. The quality of wines we have experienced through A Great Oregon Wine Tour is impressive, many of which a membership is a must. Everything from the pick up, intimacy of each tasting, provided lunch and the recap of winery’s on our drive home is truly an experience you will come back for year after year. Thank you again Wayne & Camille for another memorable year of wine. Cheer’s 🍷

Gosh, I'm humbled bu this review. We truly love what we do, meeting people from all around the world, sharing the best Oregon has to offer and having a great time doing it. Couples Wine Tour

Wayne was literally amazing. From start to finish it was perfect. The vineyards he chose were great. He is super knowledgeable about it all and we didn’t want our day to end. He personally packed a delicious lunch to share and we loved his quit wit and humor. Our trip is one we will remember forever and in great part to our friend, Wayne.

Best wine guides ever

Awesome experience with A Great Oregon Wine Tour. We went on two tours with them during our 4 day stay and both times we went to off the beaten path wineries and experienced some of the best Pinot Noir's ever. We will definitely be using them again in 2020. Wayne the owner and our special guide Terry were the best and so knowledgeable with not just wineries but restaurants and sites to see. We love them can't wait to go back.

Fantastic tours in Columbia Valley and Willamette Valley AVAs.

Wayne lead our wine group for two days visiting wineries in the Columbia Valley. He worked closely with us to pick the wineries, gave us excellent background information, kept us entertained with his wit and enthusiasm, and provided a mean lunch. This was our second tour with Wayne, the first being in the Willamette Valley pre-pandemic. You can’t do better. Enjoy fantastic Oregon and Washington wines!

Fantastic Trip!

We had Lauren take us to 3 wineries. Not only was she on time, but she was early! She texted us to let us know so we could leave a little earlier if we wanted to, which we did. They ask ahead of time a few questions, so they can plan a trip that will be personalized, like # of wineries you would like to visit, what type of wine you like and if you had any specific wineries you would like to visit. The wineries she chose for us were perfect! During COVID, you must make appointments ahead of time, so they were ready for us when we arrived. The 3 she chose were fabulous. Lauren was very knowledgeable about the wineries, as well as the geographic area, soil, and other points of interest. She knows the wine business and has great insight of the Willamette Valley. We would definitely recommend her as well as recommend her to others. This was our first trip to Oregon wine country, but it definitely won't be our last!

Absolutely fantastic wine tour!

Teri was a fantastic tour guide for our girls wine tour! I loved that she took us to the smaller wineries where it was a very welcoming feel. She was very cheerful and told great stories. She took great care of our little group! I would highly recommend booking a wine tour with A Great Oregon Wine Tour. I would definitely use them again the next time I am in Portland!

Most Amazing Wine Tour

Wayne was the BEST tour guide EVER! We came to McMinnville for a five day trip with a group of friends to celebrate birthdays, anniversary and retirement! I had mistakenly told Wayne what wineries I thought I wanted to go to. The day before I realized I wanted to change it up after a bad experience with a different tour. Wayne was up for the challenge and completely changed our itin and we had the most perfect 2 days with him. He took us to small and private wineries that were unbelievable. Wayne also made us lunch both days and they were amazing. Don’t make the same mistakes I did, book with Wayne and leave the planning to him.

Wayne was the best. I've been on 2 of his wine tours so far with family/friends, with more coming in the near future. He is the most personable and down to earth tour guide and driver. Such a good time! Very informative for those who are new to the fabulous world of wine.
