Well, as far as scenic - can't really rate this since it was pouring. We went up top briefly and it was fun (putting aside the cold & wet for a moment). I would bet that this would be phenomenal in fair weather. That explains my high rating - We will do this again "on our own nickel" in Spring... More

We took a sternwheeler sightseeing cruise that was wonderful. It was a 2-hour cruise--30 minutes down the river (then back) and 30 minutes up the river (then back.) It was a warm beautiful day, but I would recommend dressing for a temperature that's about 20-25 degrees cooler with the wind and being on the water. You will get a completely... More

We went on a group outing aboard the Portland Spirit the other night. The boat took us south on the Willamette River and then turned north and then turned back again and returned to its dock on the east side of the river. There was a formal sit-down dinner and the food was excellent. Appetizers were crab stuffed mushrooms and... More

My wife was in town for a conference and I tagged along for the week. The organizers of the event brought us to the Portland Spirit for a Friday night dinner cruise. I'm guessing but likely the number of attendees was between 50-75 people. and we took up their entire mid-deck. They promptly put us on the ship at 6:30pm.... More

Having tried a number of different excursions with Portland Spirit we thought we'd try a different stretch of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers than we have in the past. We chose a dinner cruise to celebrate our anniversary and had booked the cruise, food, window seat etc. on line before our trip. You definitely want to pay extra for a window seat. We were not disappointed in the food, service and view in the evening. Who doesn't want to listen to piano music and singing while eating dinner. The... More

I picked the lunch cruise that meets at the Salmon dock. I paid $30 extra for a window table and it was worth it. The boat has it's own history that is narrated. The captain let us into the helm. Apparently, he has navigated all over the world. Very interesting. The highlight are the many bridges. Look up the bridges... More

We signed up for the Landmarks of the Gorge Riverboat Cruise and caught the paddlewheeler in Cascade Locks. This trip is only offered once a week on Wednesdays, so we signed up very early to be... More
