Cycle Portland Bicycle Tours offers daily guided and self-guided Bike Tours as well as Rentals at our Downtown Location. Tours start at $54 per person, with bike included. Rental bike options include carbon road bikes, flat-bar road bikes, electric-assist, hybrid, cruiser, and single speed bikes. We also rent car bike-racks, trailers, and kid tag-alongs. Rentals start at just $18 for 2 hours. Visit and experience our breweries, cafe's, murals via world-class cycling infrastructure. All Rentals include free Helmets & Maps. Most include a bike lock as well.

We rented e-bikes from Cycle Portland today and the experience was first class. James at front of desk ensured we were well prepared and fully informed before we set off. He went out of his way to assist us knowing we were tourists from Australia wishing to cycle the environs of Portland.
The bikes were excellent; the map and James’ knowledge of the pathways and circuits ensured we had an adventure to remember.
We strongly recommend Cycle Portland if you want a safe, supportive and knowledgeable place to rent a bike. James , and his co-worker Taylor (?) were outstanding. We had arrived before the opening time but as it was very cold , Taylor let us in and made us feel welcome and warm!

Rented a Multi-Speed Hybrid Bike: 7 speed and 1 chain ring in front. Bike was good for 10-30 miles rides around the city. Staff fitted me to the bike and made sure I was comfortable. Portland has a lot of bike lanes and trails. Recommend the trail along the Willamette river and Sauvie Island ( can get their on your bike from the city (about 10miles to the trail and another 12-15 miles around the island.)

My close friend visiting from out of town and I rented two electric bicycles and absolutely had a blast! As much fun as riding these great bikes around was, our experience inside the shop was even better. A day before the rental, I stopped at the shop and was assisted by Kevin who patiently showed me the bikes and answered all of my many questions. He made me feel valued and made me feel even better about our rental plan. The next day, Kurt was super helpful and was also welcoming, patient and super helpful making sure that he took the time to adjust our bikes to fit us perfectly. Upon our return, Charlotte was obviously another member of the A-team. They made sure that we had fun and were satisfied with our rental experience. I found all of the staff to be a level above my expectations. I would absolutely recommend Cycle Portland to anyone wanting to rent or buy a bike or to go on one of their tours.

Such a great place for all your bike needs! Did a 2-day rental and the process was so smooth and enjoyable! Bike came with a helmet, lights, and bike lock and the location is perfect to see lots of areas in the city. Kevin helped me set up the rental and recommend some great bicycle-friendly roads and routes around the city, went up to St. John’s bridge on the east side of the river on his recommendation and it was so calm and beautiful! Everyone that works there is so friendly and knowledgeable about bikes and the Portland area in general, strongly recommend if you want a great rental and helpful service! Thanks for a wonderful experience!

I just rented an e-bike from Cycle Portland for a 4-day wine country tour around the Willamette Valley and I could not speak more highly of this shop. Kevin was very knowledgable and friendly helping me adjust my seat to the best setting, showing me the ins and outs of the e-bike and helping me with all of my questions. Charlotte was also super friendly and welcoming, making the experience feel very wholesome and exciting. The shop has everything you need for a bike trip and at very reasonable prices. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Cycle Portland for any rentals!

Rented gravel bikes online. Jaydon and his partner had bikes ready on time and gave great suggestions for biking directly from the shop. Would highly recommend if in Downtown Portland and looking for a bike ride.

Wonderful place to rent bikes and see the city! Cannot beat the location to get onto the greenway and cross all the bridges. We rented bikes for our family who visited, and it was a fun way to have friends and family enjoy the city. Amazing selection and prices too! Highly recommend! Donovan did a great job helping us out.

Cycle Portland provides excellent, professional and attentive service. I have never done one of their tours but I’ve rented their bikes for my one month-long stays - always at a fair price and never disappointed. They match me with just the right bike and graciously help me with the occasional adjustment. Can’t ask for better service.

We recently rented e-bikes from Cycle Portland. Our experience with them was great! They were quick, thorough, answered all of or questions and gave us a quick tutorial on how the e-bikes worked. The bikes functioned flawlessly during a tough 30 mile ride over the coast range in foul, rainy weather. Donovan was at the shop for our zero hassle return. Love this bike shop!!

I rented a single speed bicycle for 6 days. Donovan and everyone were friendly and provided lots of tips.
The single speed did the job even with the hills. I did have to stop a couple of times going up Mt. Tabor and one other big hill (expected coming from the flat land of New Orleans). A lock and helmet were provided. Much cheaper and easier than using the orange bikes around town (about $18/day versus $18/hour).

Hi, my sister is an adult with Down syndrome. We bought her an e-trike from an east coast company. Trikes are essential options for people with disabilities (physical and/or intellectual/developmental). I'm surprised no bike tour companies in Portland offer the option of choosing a trike or e-trike (e-trikes (electric trikes) help those with mobility/strength issues or joint pain ride pain free and conquer uphill/uneven terrain). Please try to add such options to your rental choices (and see how you can adjust your routes accordingly)... it will make your tours much more accommodating and accessible. Thank you!

On the essential bike tour what is the start time and the duration of the tour ? Also it looks like a picture of Multnomah Falls does the tour get that far ?

The bike tour does not go to Multnomah Falls but it was a great way to see the city. My guide was a native of Portland and knew so much about the city. It was an easy eight mile ride except for one hill!

Thank you for reaching out! - we currently have one child trailer (viewable on our rental page) which can fit two riders, or up to 100lbs(45kg) of weight. We don't have toddler bike seats at this time but there are a few other rental shops in the area which may have those available.

Thanks for reaching out! - The info fro AgNeSeSaP is spot on, we typically recommend bringing some extra layers and a pair of gloves just in case, our shop provides free raingear. If not sure about the weather, the best bet would be to check the forecast and make that decision about 2 days out (our booking refund window)

My experience is that rain is normal, but snow and torrential rain would be cause to cancel. These were good folks and didn't seem interested in anything but good service to their customers. However, it only takes one bad experience to ruin your tour.
Good breathable rain wear is advised for anyone.

Hi there!
Thanks for the question! Our tours travel solely on designated bike paths and streets as bicycles are not allowed on the sidewalks by law. Some of our bike paths are shared bike/pedestrian paths, that may be what padele969 is thinking of. As others have observed, the street riding is pretty mellow here in Portland.
We do not pick up or drop off at hotels, but we are more than happy to help you navigate public transportation to and from anywhere in the city. All of our tours leave from the shop in Old Town/Chinatown. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions about specific tour routes!

Hi, I am planning to take bike tour on 25th November. I am not good at riding a bicycle.. Even if I can just ride a bicycle... I mean, can't speed up ... or going up a hill. Is it still okay? ㅠㅠ !

Hello. You are welcome to come to the shop before your tour to practice for a few minuets before the group leaves. This way you can get comfortable with the bike and getting it up to speed. Most groups travel around 10mph. a very casual pace.
