It is amazing to see how this area as grown in the past few years. More construction going on to make room for all of the new arrivals. Lots of great shopping, food, and people watching.

You can visit, live and or work in this District. Excellent shopping in small local places next to great restaurants. Very walkable part of Portland.

Restaurants and shops replace the former district and invigorate the district nicely away from the downtown.

I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting, but the Pearl District did not strike me as special. As an out-of-towner, I had heard that I *had* to check this area out, but it was simply a neighborhood with a lot of very expensive boutique...More

Quite a juxtaposition of good eateries, shops and sleaze, this area has a huge bookshop (Powell's) as well as revue bars and clubs. Pearl District also has a large concentration of Portland's homeless community. Great transport links through the city and beyond.

I spent a few hours walking through the Pearl. I like that Powell Books and the Breweries are in the area, not to mention little restaurants and shops.

Lots of fun and unique stores here which makes it fun to wander around. Full square block of food trucks here too if you get hungry.

Light rail worked like a champ for us. Off the plane, walked to the platform and headed downtown. Couldn't have been easier.

There are several things to do there. We were traveling through Portland on our way to Seattle and stayed there for two days only. You only need two to three days to get your fill. I would recommend: 1. Pittock... More
