Thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour with Greg in the Pearl District. We got to see and experience Portland from an insider's perspective. We sampled the best donuts and coffee in town, saw a variety of Portland's public parks and impressive businesses, and learned a lot about the city's history and what makes it the way it is today. Thank you Greg for a wonderful afternoon.

Sometimes we visit a new city and leave almost disappointed. Sure, the food was amazing and we saw all the things we were supposed to see, but we still don't really know the true vibe of the place.
For us, the Portland Insider was a wonderful way to spend two hours getting really nerdy about Mississippi Avenue. We walked, we talked, we learned, we snacked, and now we can honestly say that we know the vibe. It's a great vibe. If we had just walked down street ourselves, we may have seen it, but we wouldn't really understand.
We'll definitely take another tour on our next visit.

Forest Park is beautiful, but our walking tour with Greg made it even more special, learning the history and visiting some of the best sights that we never would have found on our own. Definitely recommend seeing Portland with an Insider!

The biggest challenge with visiting a new city is trying to figure out how to find those hidden gems that only expose themselves to locals. Instead of spending hours on your computer researching, just join for a walk and learn first hand from a person in the know! I've lived in Portland for a year now and my girlfriend and I felt like we'd been taken on a tour in a totally new place. It made us fall in love with Portland all over again. The vibe was perfect and it just felt like a super casual afternoon. Highly recommended.

Greg took myself and friends for a casual, no-set script, let’s see what interests us walking tour of Mississippi Avenue. Greg gives a good overview of the history and culture but allows the group to decide the pace and places as we strolled. He was full of good information and able to answer a wide range of questions. Easy going. Like being with your knowledgeable Portland buddy. Got a good feel for Mississippi Avenue. Will do other tours when back in town.

Went on this tour with my Dad at the very last minute with Greg and so glad we did. I've lived in Portland for 6 years now and am slowly trying to learn more about the city. Greg was incredibly professional and knowledgeable and was able to open up ao many sections of the Pearl District for me in an entirely new light. He was extremely attentive and was able to answer all of our random questions and it was very evident that he had truly done his homework for this tour. As another poster pointed out, if you are visiting Portland from out of town, I'd highly recommend to book a tour with Greg early on and you will get a wealth of great information on places to check out during your stay.

I joined this site so I could say how much I liked this tour. Not much of a "review guy" but I felt the need to stake my claim and say: HOLY HECK WAS THIS FUN. Got to see Mississippi Ave in a brand new way. When I come back next year for a wedding I am gonna take The Pearl!!

I've lived in Portland for a while, but have realized as of late that I know shockingly little about the city. I heard about The Portland Insider from a friend and signed up for the Forrest Park walking tour. I'd been on bike rides through the park several times before, but I had no idea how much I'd been missing. Greg was incredibly knowledgeable about the area—sharing interesting historical tidbits, pointing out various flora and fauna, and highlighting cool architectural details on houses in the surrounding neighborhood. If you're a visitor to town or just want to bone up on your Portland knowledge, definitely book a tour with Greg. Oh, and also, Greg had a great recommendation for lunch. If you are visiting Portland, I'd book early in the trip and then squeeze as much information and restaurant recommendations out of him as possible.

As a new Portland resident, I was excited to get to know my city better. Greg did a fantastic job of creating the perfect walking tour of the Alberta Arts District. Not only would I recommend the tour for visitors to the city, I would also encourage people who live here to see the city through new eyes with The Portland Insider.

Such a perfect way to kick off our trip – We toured the Alberta section of Portland and just had real conversations about the neighborhood while seeing all the places, shops, and best places to eat.
It's just like having a great friend in Portland who takes the day off and shares all the little ins and outs that would take someone years to learn.
