It rained hard and cold the day we went, so most of the animals were hiding from the weather. We could just make out some animals in their dens. We saw a few animals. Those that liked cold weather and animals that were in doors. It seemed like a small zoo. I felt like the animals didn't have enough space... More

Is should be on everyone's list of things to do in Portland. This zoo has wonderful educational opportunities for all ages. There is a wonderful amphitheater that, in the summer, has wonderful musical acts. During the day they offer educational shows. It has a wonderful elephant exhibit, and a wide variety of monkeys and chimpanzees!

Wonderful zoo experience. Walkable. Kids love it. Old folks do, too. Waiting for new polar bear, Nora, to make her public debut. Check her out on U-Tube. She is a cutie.

We spent almost an entire day here. It is the ideal size for families with small children and/or older family members who don't want to walk miles and miles. The exhibits are well arranged and focus on conservation. Lovely cafeteria and gift shop as well. A state-of-the-art education center is being built at the moment.

Usually a fun place to go but we went memorial day. It was a literal and figurative zoo. Great access from max lightrail. Lots of ramps with a few steep (ish) hills. Concerts and camps in summer and holiday lights for christmas.

They have done an amazing job on providing natural stimulating habitats for all the animals. The new elephant 6 acre home is wonderful! All 6 lions were out on the rock outcrops, as well as the cougars, cheetahs, tiger, hippo, giraffes, chimps, orangutans, 4 bears, 2 mountain goats, condors, eagle, polar bear and a lot more! If you like animals,... More

We had a wonderful day. We went right when it opened so it wasn't so packed but we didn't get to see much of the animals especially the lions. Enjoying going now while our daughter is still free.

We attended a concert in the evening and were able to tour the zoo. It was a nice place. Zoos have changed a lot in the last decades and it's nice to see a place with ample space in "natural" habitats for animals. It was a very decent zoo.

While somewhat pricy, this is a lovely zoo in a park with beautiful walking trails, an awesome playground, and a children's museum. It's an utterly perfect place to visit if you have young children.
