Hello! I am Niko, a Greek living in Portland, OR. Growing up, I was surrounded by the basics of life: good food, krasi (wine), and family. After many years of traveling through Europe to explore food and wine, I settled in Portland where I have parlayed my love for wine and good conversation into works4wine. I specialize in creating curated experiences for anyone who wants to experience the beauty of Oregon's wine country. Please join me to experience three of the most interesting wineries along with some cheese wine pairings and lunch at a really cool local Cafe.

Our wine tour of the Willamette Valley with Niko was top notch in every way imaginable. He showed us three wineries including Apolloni Vineyards, Montinore Estate and David Hill Vineyards.
Niko shared his abundant knowledge of wine and wine making. We learned about different soils in the area and how each type has an impact on wine making. He was very personable and accommodating and provided us with a tasty picnic lunch in addition to engaging in lively conversation throughout the afternoon.

We are so thrilled we booked a tour with Niko. He took us to three great small wineries that we would have never decided on by ourselves, but they were perfect for us. He also did a cheese pairing for us at one stop that was perfection. Niko was very knowledgeable, gracious, and fun. We had great conversations with him in the car and we loved the winemakers he introduced us to. Thanks for the beautiful day!

My wife and I booked Niko at the last minute a few days before a holiday weekend and we felt very fortunate to have found and booked him. Niko was very professional, taking our winery preferences into account and figuring out a schedule that would take us to as many as we could fit in. He recommended a great place for lunch as well. We shared wine and travel stories and had a great day overall. Niko strives to make sure you have the best experience possible -- giving us many other winery suggestions for smaller places that can offer a more personable experience. We will use Niko again the next time we are in the area. We would highly recommend Niko for a great day around the valley.

This wine tour was different than others I took in cities outside Oregon: each winery is perfect selected and there is no rush to reach the next place. With a focus on the wine tasting itself and having a great atmosphere, Niko provided excellent background information. Considering this was booked as a regular wine tour, the entire tour was very personalized and relaxed. Thank you for hosting such a great event.

We booke this trip less than 24 hours in advance. Nico was an outstanding guide. The Vineyards were lovely and all of the wine was tasty. The tour bus was just the right size, seats 12-13. A great way to spend a half day touring wine country in the Willamette Valley. I should note the nice person on Trip Advisor did make sure we called Hub Tours, the operator of the tour to make sure we would be picked up. Hub might not be the most timely on answering phone messages, so always check your reservation.

Outstanding tour guide. Our 10 passenger bus made stopped at several vistas for pics, Canon Beach and Manzanita- both long enough for food and pics Niko usually does the wine tasting tours and is enthusiastic and energetic. Guaranteed to get your moneys worth and will pick you up at downtown hotel. What a great way to spend the day while on Portland!

Niko guided a group of girlfriends and I for 2 days across parts of the Willamette Valley. He expertly selected 6 wineries for us to visit and we loved them all! You could tell that he had done his research and had great relationships with most of the vineyard owners. We started the week as customers and ended as friends. Loved every minute of it!

We had a great experience touring the Willamette Valley wineries with Niko as our guide. He enlightened us on the wines and showed us a variety of grapes that are used which we were able to sample the delicious sweetness. Also informed us on how the differences in the nature of soils played a huge part in wine making. If you are looking for a tour, Niko is your guide. He is enthusiastic, knowledgeable about the wineries, and very intertaining

This was my and my wife's first trip to Portland to celebrate our son's engagement. We decided that spending a day in the Willamette Valley to tour and taste some of the wines the region is known for would be a memorable way to mark the occasion, but where to start? After reading all the outstanding reviews for works4wine, we chose Niko as our guide and we could not have been more pleased. He and his business partner, Pamela, phoned us prior to the tour to determine our preferences and desires, using that information to plan a custom itinerary that was then emailed to us in advance.
On the day of our reservation, Niko picked the four of us up in his brand new minivan and we were off to the first of three wineries . During the drive and at each stop, Niko shared his extensive knowledge of wine and the history of the region. We found him to be very personable, kind, and considerate. He even took photos of us with his own camera to share with us following the tour. He also provided a picnic lunch.
The vineyards and tastings were terrific, and seemingly tailor-made for us. We actually got to meet and enjoy wonderful conversations with the proprietors at two of them. All were approachable, very friendly, and well known to Niko.
If you are thinking of a wine tour of the Willamette Valley, you absolutely should consider the services of Niko and works4wine. We had an extraordinary experience and hope to visit again!
