Northwest/ Nob Hill. We reserved dinner at Fireside Grill and decided to get there earlier to walk around this beautiful upscale neighborhood to experience a different side Portland. The area is very different from Downtown and 23rd street seemed very safe to walk around after a late dinner. Highly recommend this cute area for dinner and/or dessert.

We have a friend working in a converted mansion in this area and so spent lots of time cruising the streets. This area is cute, now somewhat mixed. 23rd has become somewhat commercial, but the whole area is worth a drive.

Walking the streets of Nob Hill was interesting to me because of my architecture background. Beautiful plantings and accessories.

We stayed in this beautiful neighborhood for the 4 days we were in Portland and it was a great jumping off point to anything west of the Wilamette River (Pearl District, Downtown, Cultural District, tons of breweries, eating, and the like). Take the time to wander 21st and 23rd for food and 23rd for great little boutiques and some upscale... More

We just happened to "stumble" upon NW 23rd while "google-mapping" a sushi restaurant. WOW! What a find. This neighborhood has it all! Quaint restaurants, shops, cafes, etc. Plan on giving yourself a few hours to take it all in!

Awesome neighborhood to window shop and people watch! We went down 23rd. Has a really cool vibe! Some great brand name stores, as well as specialty shops. Many places to dine or pick up coffee or dessert.

Lots of one of a kind shops, ethnic restaurants, coffee shops, brew pubs. Generally a feel good neighborhood. Relax over coffee Al fresco and people (and dog) watch.

We enjoyed this area so much while in Portland that we returned for a second time during our stay. Unique little shops and quaint restaurants abound. Really enjoyed our visit with the owners of "Eco Vibe". Parking is a bit tricky in the area but it's worth it.

Walk through this neighborhood and beyond and enjoy rhododendrons as large as a house in May as well as roses in June.

We were looking for a good area to walk around in and this was perfect! Lots of shops, food places and people watching. I enjoyed the people that didn't seem to be in a much of a hurry, especially on a weekday morning.
