Whether you live in Oregon, or are a visitor to the beautiful Northwest, Great Oregon Tours has a coastal tour that is fantastic for everyone. I had the pleasure of taking this tour (I went solo), joined by a lovely couple from Florida, Lou and Louise, visiting Oregon for the first time. Tour Guide / Driver extraordinaire - Teri Joly packed in more things to see and do than I have ever experienced on a tour; she was amazing! A native of Oregon, Teri is like a living, breathing encyclopedia of knowledge about the areas we visited, and has funny, colorful stories that make the trip fun. My advice for anyone going on this tour is to dress in layers, because it is a full day tour, and the weather changes from morning to evening, as well as the area you are in. We started out on this tour in Portland, and as an extra bonus to the tour of the coast, Teri first drove us through the Nob Hill historic district of the city and pointed out some of the beautiful historic homes in the area, which were built at the turn of the century, with fascinating history. The drive from Portland to Astoria is 96 miles / 154 km, and Teri took us on the more scenic drive, Hwy. 30. The 1st stop was on the waterfront at the Columbia River Maritime Museum and Lightship Columbia. Next, we went up on the hill to the Astoria Column, 600 feet above sea level, where the view was spectacular! Heading down the steep hills of Astoria, we stopped for a short visit at the famous Flavel House & Museum before having lunch at the Buoy Brewery, where we ate a delicious lunch outside (perfect weather) and watched the Astoria Trolley go by. Meal was not included, of course, but the menu had a wide variety of food choices and reasonably priced. On the road again, we stopped at Fort Clatsop, the temporary encampment of the Lewis & Clark expedition in 1805. Next, it was time for the beach! Teri took us on a quick ride through the touristy town of Seaside, and then a unique ride on the beach at Gearhart, OR, one of the few beaches that allows automobiles on the beach. Last-but-not-least, we went to the charming town of Cannon Beach and then to the lookout point at Ecola State Park, as well as my favorite beach, Indian Beach, also located in Ecola State Park. WHAT A TOUR! I loved every minute of it, and the couple from Florida signed up with Great Oregon Tours again for a Gorge / Waterfalls tour the next day, with Teri as the guide. I highly recommend this to everyone!

We booked this tours just the day before. We were lucky enough to be the only two people on the tour. Our guide Teri was friendly, informative and funny.
We saw lots of the city that we just wouldn’t of without going on a tour. Stops for donuts and chocolate.

We booked a three hour tour with Great Oregon Tours. Terry , our driver, did an excellent job in providing us with the history of the area and taking us to see the different sections of the city. The tour company personalizes the tour, so you are not on a big bus tour. We had a delightful tour of the area and learned a great deal about Portland. I highly recommend Great Oregon Tours.

The tour operator was very nice and knowledgeable. However, there was not enough points of interest for her to show.

Easy peasy booking and Teri arrived at our hotel prompt and happy. We spent the day winery hopping through local vineyards and had a great time. Teri is a proud local and full of good stories, great puns and a couple of excellent “dad jokes.” She made the day easy - we felt we had a “behind the scenes” tour with insider knowledge and plenty of time to just sit and chill - no pressure. Teri was a great guide, but also gave us ample space to enjoy the wineries - she brings along good info, along with a WWII historical fiction novel and “disappears” so you can enjoy the day. The wineries were a great mix, lunch was exactly right, and we fully enjoyed our day. Highly recommended. When my husband left his hat behind in the van, she called and took the trip to return it to the hotel - big thanks!

Camille was our tour guide both times and we had a fabulous experience. We are still relative novices in the whole wine experience, but we are not just interested in the tastes but the process of wine making. Because she know everyone in the area, Camille quickly tailored our tour to what would appeal to us. These guys are just great!!!!

We did a wine tasting tour of 5 wineries with 2 other couples ( who we did not know) and Wayne was our guide. Wayne is a stand-up comic and also very knowledgeable. The wineries obviously knew Wayne well.
It was a blast. If you are going to do a wine tour do it with Wayne.
Wayne does have some off color jokes and stories but I suspect he trailers that to his audience so take note.
We would tour again with Wayne in a heart-beat.

Camille hosted our group of friends for a drive through wine country last weekend. She arrived exactly when promised, came inside to meet everyone and was so friendly from the moment we met until we arrived back home.
The van was clean, Camille had bottled water for us and she was super interactive with our group.
She is very knowledgeable on the wineries and wine itself.
I definitely recommend Great Oregon Tours for anybody who wants a relaxing drive and cool guide who feels like part of your group!

Guide was very knowledgable. Visibility wasn't great from vehicle. Wish we'd stopped more and also been given a map, so we could understand where we were.
