This tour was so interesting and so much fun! Our tour guide, Emmalie, was funny, animated, I knew her history. What a great two hours well spent!

It was absolutely awesome on this tour. The guide was informative and answered questions about Oregon’s past in this areas of the state. It was enjoyable for all the people I brought out of state to see it. Which was a added plus.

I understand that this country has a dark racist past and it was present in Pendleton. I was especially furious at the guide who explained that “ even though African Americans and Chinese weren’t allowed to go in to town after sundown and in the day ONLY if they were working for some slave owner, that the main Chinese laundry owner lived in a penthouse! They considered living in a pent house being underground 22 hours a day getting light end oxygen pumped down there being terrorized every day by white racist farmers and cowboys and when it flooded due to rain having your own separate place to endure flash flooding that killed many Chinese workers who were discarded with less dignity than a dog would get. Shame on you!!!!!

Fantastic tour - lots of interesting, fun information. The nonprofit org that runs the tour has done a great job of recreating areas underground to show the different ways the spaces were used.
