I have traveled to Hopkins both for pleasure and to take my classroom. It is a beautiful forest, set up with information and areas just ripe for learning! The walk travels down into a canyon, so be ready for the walk back up. It is a great place for dogs- the trails are well maintained and it is dog-friendly. Easy to get to and a beautiful drive just outside of Oregon City.

Open year round from dawn to dusk, this forest has great hiking trails. The trails descend down into the forest, so be prepared for the walk back up. There's a beautiful log lodge that can be rented for private functions with a an expansive view of the forested canyons from the large outdoor patio. Hopkins Forest hosts a very educational environmental field day in the summer.

The crew at the demonstration forest is very knowledgeable and walk you through a working forest. I really enjoyed being able to have a church function there and the forest its self along with the several structures that they have on site are very beautiful.

This is a free destination with trails and picnic areas. Gravel paths and dirt trails carved out of forest .nice shady areas for cooler walks in summer months Dog friendly on leash. Be careful on the creek trail during wet months as it can get slippery.
