This is classically attractive bridge, especially on a sunny day. It bridges the channel from the Pacific to the Newport harbor area. It is a nice ride across too.

This bridge is cramped and too narrow. When people on bicycles ride on it it is just begging for a wreck.

I love deco architecture. This bridge is so beautiful. It's the icon of the City of Newport, linking South Beach to Newport. So much history in the building of the bridge in 1934 to 1936. Made out of Steel and Concrete, with such grace. Great...More

I never get tired of photographing this bridge. It captures the uniqueness of the Yaquina Bay area, with fishing and pleasure boats often gliding underneath, and sometimes a rosy sunset behind it.

This is the prettiest bridges on the Oregon coast. You have an amazing view to the east and west (Pacific) while driving. It is the landmark of Newport.

The Yaquina Bay Bridge is a stunning structure across the bay for Hwy 101 it is well worth the side excursion to see it rather than just travel over it.

You can see the bridge from the car park of the foul weather park. We also drove over the bridge on the way back into Corvallis

By traveling Highway 101 on the Coast of Oregon, you cannot help but notice the beautiful architecture of the many bridges. This bridge is one of the most attractive. If you can find areas that the various bridges can be viewed from underneath, as the...More

Is the bridge walkable like a pedestrian or bike lane. Would be walking it to go to Brewers on the Bay. Thanks

Yes, there are sidewalks on both sides and easily walkable. Enjoy, we really like Brewer's on the Bay:)

Need advice on Itinerary for Sept 2010 (7 Replies)
My husband and I are organizing our September trip to the Portland/Seattle area, and I was hoping for some advice on our itinerary. We recognize it may be a little ambitious at times, but we aren't able to extend the vacation and want to maximize our visit. I have included the Oregon portion of the itinerary here and would welcome any feedback/suggestions. We have not booked hotels or anything yet, but we want to get started on that soon... just need to make sure that if our itinerary needs...More

Your intinerary looks very good to me. Recommend the Overleaf Lodge in Yachats. Great views from every room! From Bandon, head east toward Roseburg on Hwy 42. There are several nice wineries in the Umpqua Valley around Roseburg. www.visitroseburg.com. If you have never been to Mt. St. Helens (our resident volcano), it really is a must see. Depending on how far north in the Willamette Valley wine county you plan to stay the night, you could easily include the drive to Johnston Ridge on...More
