It's a good walk to get to the beach. But so worth it. The cleanest beach. You can walk for miles. There are seats going down so if you get tired, you can sit. Some people take chairs. We just sit on rocks or logs.

We were able to watch the whales from this point and on our last day we scored the one bench that sits out towards the ledge! Great views!!

This is a lovely spot on the beach. Nice for sitting, nice for walking, nice for reflecting, nice for honoring veterans. I go to the Oregon coast frequently, so I'm accustomed to great views. For someone who seldom gets here or is on a first trip, in Newport, this is one of the best spots to enjoy an expansive view... More

A family member recently relocated to Newport, OR and lives just down the road from Don Davis Memorial Park. I found the park on my morning run. It is a very nice veterans memorial with a gazebo. The park sits atop a bluff which allows for fantastic views!! This park is very popular for sunsets. Parking can be tricky when... More

So many men and women have served and sacrificed for the freedom of our country that I love viewing memorial parks in honor of them. Makes my heart heavy and yet happy to honor them with a few minutes of time thinking of those that have served before. Take a little while and go check out this memorial park. It... More

A very pleasant park with tributes to veterans and a long ramp to the huge beach. It's very close to several inns in the Nye Beach area.

This park has a moving monument of the 24 Veterans that have lost their life in battle. We loved walking the path with the large stone memorials and seeing the ocean from that vantage point.

This is a very nice place to meet some locals who know a lot about whale migration, the area in general, and who are simply nice folks with whom to visit. It's also great for just ocean watching and learning a bit about the history of the community.

This view is spectacular. The paved walk to down to the beach is gently sloped & has a great view up the coast on the way down. Sit on the rock wall near the gazebo for great photo ops of the beach, up & down the coast & the lighthouse in the distance!

One of many more stops along the way on our Thanksgiving Vacation. Good stretch of the legs in the early morning and for those who like to run. Be mindful of the tide! It comes WAY up the beach.
