Great Campground

We rented yurts with some friends and really enjoyed it there. The campground was quiet, the bathrooms (and showers) were clean, and the staff were very helpful.

South Beach is a short drive from Newport . I have stayed here several times because of the proximity to Newport and it is often the only park with an available camping spot for last minute reservations. This trip we are here in mid-August in a spot right by the entrance. Every single vehicle traveling in or out of the... More

Campground was busy, slow driving around. road bikes in area, great bike and walking paths. fresh ocean air, walk to beach, also walk or bike to jetty. Some spots better then others, so need to book ahead. good location if you want to camp, have a camper or renting one. Bikes are available to rent. Evening programs every night. Bathrooms were very clean.

Will visit the area again. Fun walks in the mornings and amazing sunsets at night. Listen to the waves and the birds.

Both are easy to access, there's an A.D.A. trail or you can take the old jetty trail. Both are easy and fairly level, easily can be hiked by a beginner. They have bathrooms and you can access the beach here.

Great camping. We used the campground as a rustic hotel of sorts because we had so much adventuring we wanted to do. Kayaked Beaver Creek, visited several other State Parks. I LOVE that the parking permit also allows you to enter any other State Park through the date of departure for free. It entirely paid for itself! The showers and... More

We stayed 4 days/3 nights with our 4 year old grandchild and enjoyed everything the park had to offer. Our site was in the H loop, since we had a tent. The restrooms and showers were clean and well-monitored. We walked the nature trail that surrounds the park, went to the beach and playground, rented bikes, attended Jr. Ranger activities... More

A nice little walk in the woods. Great paved areas for the handicapped and small trails to explore. Nice experience for kids.

We have been to the state park twice and will certainly stay there again. The three rating is based on a comparison to other Oregon State Parks Campgrounds that we have stayed at. The main distraction is the camp sites are very close together and offer very little privacy between campground. However, the positive side is there are plenty of... More

Very nice amenities for a State Park! Nice bathrooms, nice spacious sites with big picnic tables, big fire rings and LEVEL SITES!! We pulled out 30' RV in and whola! Wish we would have had our bikes with us because it's good for biking. They have Nature programs for the kids at 4pm and evening programs at 8pm!
