This tour provides a sea level view of the working boats of Newport. A perfect 2 hour kayak guided paddle around the docks is a reminder that the ocean is not all about tourism here. You can suit up with borrowed waterproof pants and jacket, get a quick lesson in how to paddle and slide your kayak into the Bay. Our guide offered us insights and Idyllic views of the sea lion rocks, the Coast from sea, Coast Guard and NOAA operations and private fishing long line and trawler boats. This non-profit organization has created a unique, affordable adventure.

Jeremy was an excellent guide: competent, flexible, informative, knowledgeable, with noticeable kayaking skills. Yaquina Bay is so interesting and beautiful. This was a great little trip.

Up close water level view of a unique and vibrant and productive area. The guide was patient and informative and obviously loved the tour and the area. Good tour for beginners as safety was of highest concern as well as insuring a positive experience for everyone. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed the tour of the area. Lots of fishing trawlers mixed with nature of the area. Birds, gulls, starfish around the docks and Bay. Thanks. Quite a rowing workout that my wife, teens, and I enjoyed.

A great way to see the Newport harbor up close with great information about the fishing boats, animals, NOAA, the Coast Guard, the bridge . . . . The guide, Konaho, was so patient and knowledgeable. My 13 year old son loved it. We saw a seal and a sea lion which made his day.

Was a easy kayak trip and informative! We both had a great time ! Julien knew a lot about the ships and the area - he also kept us away from the sea lions which were everywhere

Very mellow and interesting tour of the bay. The trip was definitely accessible for complete beginners. Our guide was knowledgable and answered all our questions. We saw harbor seals, brown pelicans, and more. Lots of information about the fishing fleet, NOAA, and the Coast Guard.

Way better than spending the time walking up and down the bayfront, buying salt water taffy!

Earlier tours tend to be less windy. Kayaks are sit-on-top, tandem rigs. OBF can provide rain pants and coats if you don't have that gear.
