I've really come to enjoy visiting this place. Their recent addition of the shipwreck exhibit is a big plus and should delight birth young and old alike.

Great aquarium. Go on a day when the weather is nice since much of it is outside. Touching tidepool that the kids will love with staff there to monitor and explain the specimens featured. The California Brown Pelican show was fun, but again it's outside so go on a non rainy day.

Oregon Coast Aquarium is a smaller aquarium that if measured with MBARI or SCRIPPS falls short. Nevertheless, on its own merits, in a relatively small town this is a very good aquarium. There are many exhibits to look at from Seals to Sturgeon. Admission was about $105 (4 adults/1 child). Children should be fascinated.

Having been to aquariums in various cities, I did not expect to be wow-ed. I was! A large variety of exhibits and a large section where you walk through a glass tunnel with animals above, beside and everywhere. Talk about "immersion", just a wow experience. Explanatory postings everywhere and not just a 20 minute trip. We stayed for about 4... More

We were traveling south on the Oregon Coast and saw advertisements for this place. Newport is quite small so we were not expecting much. We were very pleasantly surprised. It is very well done and will be enjoyed by all ages. Excellent marine mammal feeding show.

This is a great place for kids and adults alike. There is plenty to see and some things you can get right up to. The otters for example are in a big open pool with plexiglass around it but they are so fun to watch. My absolute favorite is the walk through shark tunnel. I've been to this aquarium more... More

Give yourself some time. I thought the underwater archeology aspect was unusual for aquariums. Marine mammals steal the show.
