First of all the aquarium is fantastically done and the staff are very helpful. There aren't too many exotic animals but they are always cool to see. The indoor exhibits are very interesting and I love the bird aviary. Usually you can always catch a feeding or two when you visit. This is a "must-see" if you go to Newport.

We recently visited the Aquarium in August, 2016. Plan on spending a couple of hours if you are taking children. They will have a blast watching the otters, looking for the octopus hiding in its "cave" and touching the sea anemones with volunteers available to answer questions, etc. There is an "undersea" walkway so you can observe all kinds of... This is a small aquarium but they have done an exceptional job with what they have. The displays are well labeled with just the right amount of information. There are a lot of volunteer stations and great opportunities for children to have a hands on experience. The central displays with their use of rock formations in the enclosures are the... More

My husband and I travel to the Oregon coast every summer and love to visit the Aquarium. It's fascinating to see all the animals. The staff and volunteers are very friendly and helpful. It is a great place for kids.

What a disappointment. The exhibits are well done but we could not get close enough to see them! Many of the tanks-all of the large ones- are served by gravel paths. It is very difficult to push a wheelchair through the gravel. Eventually we gave up and left, without our friend seeing the octopus, the otters, the walkthrough tank, the... More

We spent a day here with another family. The kids were really interested in the exhibits (especially the shark tunnel). We'll go back if we're in town.

This is a great aquarium for its size! It's always clean and the grounds are well kept! They have some nice exhibits. It's very accessible for wheelchairs and walkers as well. There is an enclosed area with Puffins and other beach birds. Worth seeing if your staying in Newport!
