Well it has a beautiful view and on a clear day you can see Mount hood. So the wine maker use to work at stags leap wine cellars. One of my very favorites winery’s in Napa. Lenard was are host for our tasting. Highly recommend asking for him by name if you call to make a reservation. Treated with a great smile and happy personality and knowledge of winery and wines we had were lovely. Bought two very nice bottles. They take away one tasting fee for every $120 spent. Please bring a cash tip for your host they will not add that to your credit card. Great afternoon out!! Enjoy! 😊

Our early 11;00 AM reservation allowed us to usurp Ben and ask tons of questions and get personal attention. It was wonderful. The Willamette Valley is gorgeous, and Penner-Ash took advantage of the views when they built their winery. The cold and rain disappeared, as we cozy upped to the fireplace. The wines helped also, Penner-Ash having some of the best rated bottles in the Pacific Northwest.

We tasted a variety of excellent bottles, but fell in love with the Viognier and the reds from the eminent Shea Vineyard. If you get a chance, Penner-Ash is one of the best wineries in the Pacific Northwest. Go and enjoy!

Just visited Penner-Ash winery with my fiancée. He hosts clients frequently for his business and always buys P-A during dinners. We asked to visit this winery to have the experience in person and it absolutely delivered!! The scenery is second to none!! The garden, flowers, wine selections and staff are phenomenal! If you visit, be sure to ask for Philippe Isnard as your host. He is phenomenal!! He’s incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and fun! Excellent visit!

My husband and I visited this winery on the suggestion of a sommelier. I am so glad we did. The property sits atop a hill in the Ribbon Ridge region of the Willamette Valley. They have adirondack chairs and a large patio. At present, they are expanding their outdoor area which should increase the number who can enjoy the view and sip substantially. The wines are elegant, well finished and presented nicely by the pourer. We are a bit nerdy with our wines and they answered every question. As with many Oregon wines, only some of their wines are available in California, so taking some away or shipping is advisable

As we toured through willamette a number of people mentioned this winery. We give it 5 stars because it checks all the boxes at a high level:
1. Awesome wine including the “wine with no name” because it’s so good and blends the 5 original ava’s together.
2. Beautiful tasting room and scenery. New, modern, spacious, and immaculate
3. Great service. From the greeting to your last pour the staff is amazing.

At the end of the day add this great winery to your list. If you are most passionate about one of the three grading points above there may be better wineries for you. But as a whole, Penner-ash is great!

We visited Penner- Ash for the third time in a number of years. The setting and views are spectacular. However, the tasting experience was pedestrian at best. Our hosts appeared to be going through the motions. We had to work hard to engage them. Part of the tasting experience is having some fun and engaging. Not so much this time.

On a slow Monday we dropped by, not a single visitor there. Without an advance reservation the lady sent us away. Plenty of other better wine makers to visit in Willamette Valley. Try nearby Utopia Winery instead.

Visited mid-August and had a wonderful time. They've always had outdoor seating so social distancing was not an issue. Wines were as delicious as we remember them from our last visit. Yes, we keep coming back, for a reason. We love the wine, the view, the people. You can't ask for anything more.

Heard they had great wines but when we heard you could bring your own picnic, that made the choice easy. We picked up some meats and bread and cheeses in Dundee and got a lovely table overlooking the valley.

The wines were great and the hostess was so warm and friendly and knowledgeable. Each couple ended up buying a case and we joined the wine club because it was excellent wine you can't get anywhere and the price is extremely reasonable given how excellent the wine is. There was no pressure, no rushing you and no snobbery. Penner Ash was a great spot to end our journey.
The tasting fee is very reasonable and waived with a $65 purchase.
I love that they encourage you to picnic there when other places do not allow it.

We loved our trip to the Willamette Valley!
