If you want informed conversation, the owner of this winery is your guy. Good wines, newer facility built in a Quarry. This place is worth a visit and easily accessible from Hwy 99W. Next time we visit the area we will stop here again.Only one suggestion for the winery, they should have a couple of standing tables inside for visitors to enjoy their wine.

We bought several of their excellent reds, but our biggest purchase was their Gewürztraminer $14.bottle less with a case discount. Very friendly and accommodating employees seem to really want to help you find a wine that you really like.

The August Cellars tasting room is set into the hillside and is hidden away from 99W but so close you just have to turnoff and in about 1/4 mile you are there. We have passed the sign dozens of times but never stopped. So glad we did on a rainy afternoon. The Tasting room manager is friendly and this is a cozy yet roomy tasting area right off the processing areas viewed through beautiful tall windows. For the white wine enthusiast the chardonnay has great flavor at a low price of under $20.00/bottle. My husband likes the reds and enjoyed the Ribera Confluence, a very nice blend for under $25.00.

This is a great place to visit. The tasting room is beautiful, open and modern and the wine varied and great. But the tour is the hit for me. We was how the grapes were sorted, crushed etc. Don't miss this!

We stopped here for our first taste of the Willamette Vallley wine region. I hadn;\'t been on a wine tour in 34 years, so I was surprised that I actually had to PAY for a tasting, but times do change. Fortunately, this was worth it, and the quality of the wines encouraged us to buy enough to offset the tasting fee. Our host was very knowledgeable, in the final throes of an Oeneology degree, and well-versed in the subject and the wines at hand.
No big neon signs diecting you to the winery, but well worth the hunt. Tasting glasses were very similar to Reidel's "Sommeliers Burgundy Grand Cru Wine Glass", but at $125 a pop, I doubt they were the real McCoy. I'm going to try to stop by again on the way back, and find out how to get some. If I do, I'll post a couple pictures. Overall, a class act and a fine experience.

Sunday Memorial Day Weekend just sporting around and found August Cellars just east of Newberg Oregon. What a marvelous venue: you have the attendance of no less than six of the finest wine makers in the Chehalem Mountain growing area. We spent unhurried moments with the different wine makers tasting their wares and learning a lot about the process. Lots of fun and left with bottles of great wine. Highly recommend a visit.

This was our first stop on our wine tour. The man that conducted our tasting was very chipper, very excited about his job, and knew a lot about the wines. He was clearly a wine fanatic. He made our experience very pleasant and relaxing. We tasted a variety of wines and I really enjoyed the whites. We ended up buying three bottles, and I think this waived the cost of the tasting.

Kids can draw on cement with chalk and entertain selves while you sip. Best variety of wine and reasonable pricing. Just bought some 2012 chardony on sale for $10. Plus in summer you can choose a flight from guest vintners. Definitely recommend their wine club. The 2 bottles about 3 times a year is an easy way to get you feet wet if you have never done a wine club. Then tastings are free, and can even do both flights in summer. LOL.

Tucked away in the woods, a wide variety of wines are provided and not the typical emphasis on Pinot Noir. We bought the Zinfandel.
