Always a great experience with Sheila and the staff. The wines are amazing across the board. We bring out of town family and friends here as a must stop through the Willamette Valley.

In an unassuming little building just a couple blocks off 99W, the Anam Cara Winery offers a warm and inviting atmosphere to sample some of Oregon's best pinot noir. Over the Thanksgiving holiday we made our annual pilgrimage to the Willamette Valley to seek out the newest releases of wine. We were not disappointed.
The Anam Cara Cellars tasting room has a cozy feel. There is sufficient room for standing at the counter as well as comfortable chairs, good natural light and friendly hosts. The staff are very knowledgeable, and love talking about their products.
This is one of my favorite stops, and the one I most look forward to making. While not the big fancy tasting rooms so many other wineries put forth, the Anam Cara Cellars tasting room is more like your neighborhood bar - comfortable, with no judgemental looks or condescension. Truly a place you want to be.
And the wine is so good. Especially the 2011 Heather's Vineyard and Mark VI pinot noirs.

As soon as we walked in we were visiting with Linda, who basically walked in with us. We thought she was another customer. After visiting for a few minutes she was asked to come help out, although there were only another couple of people ‘tasting’. That,s when we realized she worked there. So she helped us with our ‘tasting’, but continued to be friendly and informative. One of us did join the wine club and we will all be back often. Linda was just a joy to be around.

Thank you Connie. Yes, Linda is a gem. She started as a Club Member herself! Thanks for stopping by.

Lovely place. Very friendly. Great time.
Lovely wine. Very reasonable. Not every wine is great. But you will find one that stands out. I promise.

The Willamette Valley has hundreds of vineyards and wine tasting locations. Anam Cara is located right in Newberg. Nick Nicholas and his wife are knowledgeable and friendly people who can tell you things about growing grapes and making wine that you will find interesting, with all the choices out there, put them at the top of your list.

We where driving through several vineyards and sample rooms to have a wine tasting experience, so we entered this one just to check, as it was a 24th of december (most of them were closed) we found out a cozy good ambient, as you know im from Costa Rica and we were talking with "D" the sweet funny lady who atended us.... When she ask us from where we were she started to talk to us in spanish (she is cuban descendant) and we started to have the most funny x-mas afternoon ever!!!! She is a gem of a person, very aknowledge girl in terms of wines, we had the flight she recomended and was superb!!! We chat and laught a lot...... "D" is the soul of the place, she charmed us with her authentic personality and her beauty.
Of course we bought a few bottles cause their wines are amazing....
Totally recomended.

Some very good wines at reasonable (for the north Willamette Valley) prices. Comfortable tasting room and refundable $10 fee is better than most.

Anam Cara's tasting room is located right on a main street in Newberg and totally separate from the vineyard. The building is easy to overlook when driving by to access the local wine region, so look closely and be sure to stop.

While the exterior is plain and easy unassuming, the interior is very well appointed. There is a generously sized counter and a well decorated space large enough to hold a good sized group. Dee was staffing the counter they day we visited. She was friendly and full of information about the wines we were tasting which included dry and off dry rieslings, gewurtztraminer, and pinot noirs. All the wines were very good and some were excellent. The gewurtz was a very lovely surprise as it is rarely produced in this area and when it is, generally lacks the spicy character that is typical of European wines. This one did not disappoint in any way. It was very believable when Dee told us that the wine always sells out very quickly.

All of the grapes for the wine are grown locally and the vineyard is family owned and operated. It's clear that this is a labor of love and well worth your time to visit.
