About
PLEASE MAKE A TASTING RESERVATION ON THE WEBSITE TO VISIT AND HOLD YOUR SPOT FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING. Vino Vasai, Italian for Potter's Wine, was established in September 2012. Bill and Sandy bought a 3.2 acre Vineyard that was planted in 2001 in the Chehalem Mountains of the Willamette Valley. We call it The Potter's Vineyard because we are also potters and make functional ceramics. We also feature other artists in our tasting room. Come visit and make a memory with us!

We went to see the pottery but we joined the wine club for the wine - every single wine we tasted was fantastic. Bill and Sandy (and their loyal dog Tara) gave us an amazing private tour and a hot and sleepy Monday - the vineyard is a short distance off the main road into Newberg - and we were transported into a different world. If you like beautiful wines, surrounded by affordable, curated art pieces, in a small, personal scale winery - this is the place for you. An amazing tour and tasting with genuine, lovely owners - It was the highlight of our trip.

Great little vineyard between Sherwood and Newberg 1/2 mile off 99W. Thje make their Pinot Noir using French Oak which gives it so much more flavor then the standard Newberg\Dundee Pinot's. Stop on by and have a taste, so good.

We called ahead to schedule a visit when we rearranged our day due to rain. This charming couple opened their shop for our party of 3 couples. We had a delightful visit tasting wines and shopping for locally made pottery. We enjoyed meeting the winemaker and hearing their story, so much more personal than the big business of Napa valley! This mom and pop winery on 3 acres is landscaped and lovely. We loved the wines and had some shipped home. Thanks for a great visit! We hope they do very well!

I cannot say enough about Bill, Gretchen and Art. They really know how to host an event (Thanksgiving weekend). Gretchen is an elementary school teacher, so everyone was
fed and happy. She custom made fig jelly from her personal tree, as well as pinot jelly (both were delicious!) Bill is an exceptional host who excels at multi-tasking, making sure all were having a fabulous time and their questions were answered. Art, the assistant wine maker, is brilliant and a pleasure to talk with. The wines are lovely, and very impressive...especially when you hear about how their small crew does everything by hand----very personal experience. The art is beautiful, and it is made by both the owners and local artists. There is a very large table in the middle of the tasting room/ gallery, so it would be wonderful for groups. With dedication and a unique commitment to detail, everything from the wines to the service was top notch. It's definitely worth the trip!

We had the most special time at this vineyard and we ended our wine tasting on this high note. We came here mainly because the name implies that someone in the business was a potter. We got to spend an hour or so not only visiting with the owners who are potters but with local neighbors and the assistant wine maker. It was a fantastic afternoon, so much so that we ended our wine tasting on this high note

I highly recommend the wines here. We are picky with what we buy but we bought the Barrel 17 wine. You have to have them tell the story about how the wine got that name. You will love the story. It’s magical.

fun day to be there the winemaker conducted our tasting and our wives looked at the clay works and bought some while we soked up as much winery info as we could..great little fun winery they had a couple food vendors there, most everyone else seemed to know each other and were drinking wine by the glass ..we seemed to be nly ones doing a tasting which I think made the winemaker happy as he had someone to talk shop with.
the wine is on the bold side.

We visited Bill and Sandy on the recommendation of a friend back home on our recent visit to OR and we had a wonderful time visiting this small winery. Bill and Sandy have a quaint barn/tasting room/pottery studio and they are the most welcoming people. We enjoyed spending over an hour here, tasting their wines, picking up some pottery, walking the grounds and eventually, joining their wine club! I look forward to the case of reasonably-priced wines due to ship to us soon!

We had a fabulous experience today visiting with Bill and Sandy and getting an intimately personal experience of their vineyard, life, wine making, and wines.

Their wines were excellent. I especially liked their 2014 Pinot and reserve. I was surprised by their Rose' Pinot, wonderful! Their tasting room is steps away from the vineyard, which you drive through.

Bill gave us an in depth explanation of all matters involving the vineyard. He was very interesting and we just kept asking him questions. Sandy was a joy, full of life that can be seen in her passion for the gardening and pottery. Today, I feel like we made friends - well, after all - we did spend 2 hours there.

We walked away having joined their wine club, looking forward to their newsletters, anxious to share our story of them and their wine with our friends.

If you want an intimate experience of a working vineyard and the treat of drinking wine while standing next the vines it came from, visit them and tell them you read David's review. He might let you taste the Cabernet - like we did - that is still a few weeks away from being ready. That was interesting to taste.

What a beautiful vineyard and absolutely wonderful experience! Bill & Sandy are very gracious hosts who are passionate about what they do. We spent several hours with them and Bill walked us around the vineyard answering all our questions. Every wine we sampled was delightful! This is a must if you are anywhere close by. If you only have time for one winery this would be it. We joined their club so that we can enjoy their wine back home in Florida several times a year.

I think that the first time I visited Potter's Vineyard was around Thanksgiving 2014. I enjoyed the views, wines, owners and staff on that visit, and on every subsequent visit. Some wineries stand out for their combination of quality and friendliness, and Potter's is one of those! Even if you aren't particularly into wine, they have a huge offering of beautiful handmade ceramics (hence the name, "potter").
