Frazier Farmstead is a nice museum that tells the story of the Frazier story when they headed west. There is an indoor and outdoor part of the museum and both are worth going through. We were greeted by Linda inside and she did a great job telling the history of the family journey west and life at the new farm. The main house is like some of the others I visited on this trip, but it also does does a good job showing exhibits and how life was back then. There are some cool buildings and old farm equipment to go through outside. In the back of the complex is the oldest cabin is Eastern Oregon. It was little dark, but it definitely gives you an idea of how things were. The most fun part outside is exploring the big red barn. You can even climb the stairs to the upper level which is a cool experience. I couldn't find much to do in Milton-Freewater, but the Frazier Farmstead is a worthy detour.

At the southern tip of Walla Walla Valley, the small town of Milton-Freewater is reminiscent of Old Town Americana in the 1950s. Tucked away on a side street, the Frazier Farmstead Museum reflects the rich agricultural heritage of the area. The beautifully restored and maintained 19th century farm house, barn, and grounds are worth a visit. You will enjoy seeing the antiques in the parlor of the main house and the wealth of history in the downstairs museum. Be sure to venture out on the grounds to see the barn and old farm equipment.

Outstanding museum about the life of the family and living in the area at the turn of the 19th century. Oldest building in eastern oregon is on display also.

When we entered we were welcomed by a nice lady. She showed this home perfectly. This Farmstead was built in 1868. It is registered of historic places.

We saw all the bedrooms, kitchen, dining room and the living room.

It was beautiful.

Then we went to the barn.

We had a good time and we had learned a lot.

Worthwhile to see!

We actually were going to get married on the grounds, but it stormed. We did return the next day and get some beautiful pictures outside and inside. They have a great fundraiser dinner once a year with a band.

I saw an article in our local paper and had no idea that this place was so close by. Went on a Saturday, as they are only open Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Ring the bell, and walk into the past. Your host is very knowledgeable and the home is kept in wonderful repair. I am writing a book placed in the 1800's and wanted to get a bit off inspiration. It is just how I pictured the era and got some good references. Really was glad to make the find. The museum operates on donations, but you will be impressed as you walk through and a hands on feel of the place.

People have worked very hard to give this house a turn of the century feel. Lots of hard work, and a job well done.
