A great spot to taste local wines
We stopped by for some wine tasting on a Monday afternoon. The place is very cute. It has a great indoor presence that consists of a store that sells wines, pillows, glasses, honey, etc as well tables to sit for your wine tasting. The outdoor has an amazing patio that’s fully covered so you can drink wine while watching the rain. Our host James was incredibly knowledgeable of wines and very friendly. It was an all around great time. By the way, they are also very dog friendly which is fantastic. Our furry friend got a dog treat and also had a fantastic time.

    Interesting store with local goods
This store is right on 3rd Street, the ‘main drag’ in downtown McMinnville, which is full of local shops and restaurants. I enjoyed my visit; they had a nice selection of Oregon wines and other foods, plus artisan items like pottery and jewelry. Staff were welcoming. Good place to buy a souvenir or gift from the region.

Sipping and Shopping make a great Combo
My sister and her husband love to take guests to this store that also is a tasting room. The staff and owner is super knowledgeable about the wines choose. Their flights change daily so there is always something new to try. We had a fantastic experience in a very laid back and relaxed atmosphere on the front porch. I also love the shop itself which boasts all kinds of items from local artists such as jewelry, jams and jellies, artwork, and all kinds of wine related drink ware and decor. If you are in town, I highly recommend stopping in to sip and shop. It really is a great way to spend some time and take in the historic charm of 3rd street.

My favorite part was meeting the owner, James. My son, Jake and I happened to stop early in the AM. James greeted us as we walked around his beautiful shop. The shop has an eclectic selection of the best of this precious town.
We started talking about wine. James is extremely knowledgeable of the local wines and wineries. My son owns a wine shop in Florida and James arranged a tasting from one of the local wineries, Jake carries Tim's wine in his shop . It was such a gracious thing to do. We had such a great time. I felt like we had meet a friend in James, Tim and Tim's lovely wife Denise. The hot spot to be at 4:00 PM is sitting outfront of James's shop sipping some of Oregon's best!

We stopped in for some wine tasting and to look around at all the interesting local items for sale. James, the store owner was very knowledgeable having grown up in the area and working all aspects of the wine industry. He has a great selection from many different vineyards not from just one company like most of the tasting locations in town. We had a wonderful time. It’s not a very large tasting area which makes it all the more pleasant due to the personal attention that is given.

They have wonderful things made locally and statewide. Sometimes the artist is actually working the counter. Very diverse selection of food, wine, cutlery, wood products, artworks, glass items, etc. Prices were varied and reasonable.

We stopped in here as we were downtown and walked by. It is nice because you can taste wines from many different vineyards and shop while you are tasting.

This place has a lot more inside than you would expect! There is a wine tasting area and with an intimate set of indoor and outdoor tables for enjoying. Also inside there are several sections of different types of Oregon inspired gifts, novelty items and artisan pieces. Included are many types of local speciality food items such as jars of spreads, chocolates, and much more as well as handcrafted kitchen decor and jewelry. There is also some standard souvenir items available but what is nice is that there are lots of ideas for other gifts. A lot of nice jewelry pieces. Worth a stop in for sure!

If you are in the area in search of wine, passing through to the coast or in town for the annual Alien festival, NW Food & Gifts is a must stop to view a variety of food, wine, soaps and crafts for local Oregon business. A much better choice than any "Made in Oregon " stores!

I saw this shop across from Hotel Oregon and was looking for places that might have interesting postcards. When I mentioned to the woman inside about coming to check out Hotel Oregon and wondered if They might have post cards that might be UFO related. Her eyes lit up and she showed me all around the shop.

Yes, they have UFO art. UFO related post cards, T-shirts. You name it and they sure hand homed in on UFOs. The art is by local artist. Though I did notices that prices were a bit higher than I expected on these items. I bought 8 ALIEN art postcards and that cost me $17 but is is exactly what I was hoping to find. Something unique and eye catching.

It is a fun shop to walk around and see everything they have.

We popped into NW Food & Gifts whilst we were wondering around McMinnville and so pleased we did, as it really made our day. We had a great wine tasting (so sorry, we cannot remember the name of the lovely lady who's second/third day it was - she was excellent) along with James the owner who was very funny. It was so great to get to chat about the wine and also have a chat with locals. Such a great experience, we left with a smile and the proper pronunciation of Willamette!

Thank you!

Girls' week get-away....As we walked the wonderful streets of McMinnville, we happened upon NW Food & Gifts. The shop in itself is eclectically a feast with its variety of very interesting and diverse artisan items. We would have been pleased with the shopping alone. THEN we heard that the owner, James Tate, offers wine tastings and if you want you can shop and sip. Sold! We sat at the small tasting bar at the front window and listened to James tell his intimate stories of vintners, Oregon, and own evolution with his business. If that was not enough, we loved the wines he chose for us to sample and we all gave them high scores and better still, we bought several including Patricia Green Cellars Freedom Hills Pinot Noir and Duece Cellars Syrah. Every question we asked of James from wines to stuff in Oregon, he explained.

Visiting NW Food and Gifts was one of the highlights on our trip to McMinnville. The shop offers locally made items from beautiful soaps to handmade gifts and food items. The best part of our visit was the wine tasting with the owner James Tate. He educated us on many of the local wines and we discovered quite a few new favorites. A wonderful experience!
