We live near Taft Bay and walk it often. It is a dog friendly beach so our dogs love the adventure and meet lots of "friends" along the way. The driftwood is plentiful, especially after a storm. Huge trees come ashore that provide a good resting bench or a back rest for a longer sit. As the tide ebbs, treasures are easy to find: bits of glass, aggots, bits of lave, interest and beautiful rocks. The current is swift so it is not a great place to swim. Wading is best up by Mo's Restaurant --a wonderful place to eat! Parking is usually at a premium as it is a popular place.

This is an extremely cool beach, bordering the north shore of Siletz Bay. There is a MASSIVE amount of driftwood along the upper beach, including huge tree trunks.

Because the beach borders the bay instead of the ocean, it is protected from waves and makes this a much safer place, especially for people with small children.

There is a large parking area, public restrooms, and a long beach to explore. While we were there we saw people crabbing from shore, a group of teenagers playing frisbee, couples young and old enjoying the day, and families with small kids playing along the water's edge.

One thing I saw that was particularly cool was watching the outgoing tide from the bay flow into the sea. When the tide is ebbing, you really don't want to be in that channel!

We will definitely go back.

Our favorite place to stay in Lincoln City is actually Taft! We love the Looking Glass Inn, which is quiet, beautiful and affordable, also dog-friendly. The small walkable "town" has a grocery store, restaurants and shops and easy access to the beach. The beach has tons of driftwood, people crab and fish here and you can view a nearby island with seals and pelicans sunning themselves. You can walk forever along the beach.

I've mentioned in early reviews to NEVER stay down here in Lincoln City during the summer months. I should have listened to my own review. What a horrible experience while staying here. The town is overcrowded and traffic is a complete nightmare. We came down specifically for a family event, and wished we hadn't. Restaurants, stores, businesses, beaches, and basically everything is overcrowded to a tipping point. People are incredibly rude and have zero patience. Even the locals I spoke with hate it when people come into town. In fact I was told on several occasions to not come back?? We felt very unwelcomed while staying here. We normally stay between February and no later than the third week of May. We've stayed during all other times, but this duration is the best. AVOID any other time if you can..... we will not be back until next year.

This is the old town of Taft, located on the Siletz Bay. So technically not "Taft Bay".
There are several motels, vacation rentals, and restaurants within walking distance of this area. We enjoy walking along the edge of the bay, which you can follow around to the ocean beach area.
This is a quiet part of Lincoln City, away from super-busy Hwy 101. It's one tiny remaining example of what the area used to be years and years ago.

Lincoln City, OR is a great place to visit and stay as easy drive to other coastal cities to the north and south. Adequate restaurants in LC as well as Depoe Bay, Newport, etc. Even with take-out being our only way to eat personally with the Covid19 situation.

This lovely little beach is worth a look. Lots of "fiddly-bits" to find at low tide if you like looking for shells and agates. Sea lions sunbathe across the reach (and occasionally come over for a closer look at us humans). There's Mo's if you want lunch, and a wonderful arcade/ice cream shop across the street for sweet treats. The street leading to the beach is lined with places to stay, and shopping/groceries are a short walk away for convenience. There's not a lot of parking, but it's worth the trouble of waiting for a spot.

Owners, please sell this place and move on. This is a shambles. This used to be top of the line, with a very efficient manager and knowledgeable maintenance crew, not these days.

We came here during July 4 activities so it was crowded, but no less fun. Lots of music, food, and places to enjoy the water and sand. The food at Mo's is always worth coming back for so we go any time we are here. Since fireworks are set off in Siletz Bay, it was extra crowded.

This bay/beach has great variety! From collecting agates to fishing, hiking, or just lazing on the beach this is a great stop! Many people seem unaware that there is an adjoining public parking lot just east of Mo's restaurant, and even on Labor Day weekend when Mo's parking lot was jam packed, I did a quick right turn and found a parking spot immediately.
