There was so much to see and do in this free museum - I had not expected to spend four hours here, but looking at all of the AMAZING items and photos gave me such an endearing feel for the area.. One highlight for me was the real folk harp with instruction book - I played it for 45 minutes much to my incredible enjoyment. You too might find something that may warm your heart. The helpful and friendly staff will be happy to answer any questions!

This was a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours. The float exhibit is astonishing. So much history packed into such a small space. It is obvious that the volunteers love their museum. The museum is free and there is a small gift shop. Lots of wonderful things to see. This is a hidden gem. Take a couple of hours. Kids would be happy here too. They have movies and a discovery center for youth!

Please visit the Taft Pioneer Cemetery before going to the museum. That sounds odd, but we went there first, noted all the names on the graves, and when we went to this museum, our curiosity about those people was satisfied by this museum. They have histories on each family ... so fascinating! Amazing that entrance to the museum is free. Lovely. But you must see the cemetery, at least for the spectacular view! Just be careful crossing the highway and driving on the one-way road up. So worth it - both locations!

Was very interesting to learn some of the history of this community. The movie was very interesting. Wish there had been more.

I learned of this museum on Facebook and we finally had a chance to visit. Wow! This place is a treasure trove of memories. The downstairs has the early history and the upstairs the later history. Having been to the Pixie Kitchen and Pixeland as a kid it brought back memories. You will have a fun time here.

Just a step off of the highway is a great place to see the history of life a hundred years ago. Lots of what is it items with a little book to give you a free guided answers through the place. It is well worth your time to stretch you legs. It has two very clean bathrooms with an elevator for those who need it. It is the best find in Lincoln City in a long time.

While in Lincoln City recently, my husband and I had some time to spare and decided to check out this museum. What a great idea that turned out to be! It's very well laid-out, and the local exhibits are really interesting, with someone having gone to the trouble of writing pieces about the history of older residents and pairing then with some great photos. (And there are wonderful quotes from early residents sprinkled throughout.) There's also a great exhibit about the Pixie Kitchen and Pixie Land which my husband went to as a child. And then to add to the fun, there's an old toy exhibit, many of which I remember playing with as a child. (Yes, my life is now part of a historical exhibit!) And for parents of small children, there's a great little play room for them with all kinds of fun stuff to do. Highly recommended!! We will definitely be going back the next time we're in town.
