Tucked away only a mile off of Hwy 101 on the Siletz River Hwy, is Lincoln City's best kept secret, Barking Dog Farms Organic Produce. David Shaeffer spent years as a professional chef working in many of the high end restaurants in the area and understands food in a way that is not typical to your average farmer. His wife, Heidi Erickson, is an incredible metal artist and her artwork can be seen around the farm, adding to the already glorious grounds.

Even if you're just passing through and can't buy a load of vegetables to cook, it's worth stopping by to pick up some fresh organic berries for the road, take pictures of the flowers, and experience a little piece of heaven.

Small, intimate restaurant - their focus is on breakfast so not a HUGE menu to overwhelm. The wait-staff (they may have been the owners/operators) were VERY pleasant and attentive, even for a solo diner. Food was excellent, and the dog-themed atmosphere was very fun!

We tried to visit on Sunday June 7 2015 but the closed sign was up and no one answered our call. We drove over anyway- ever hopeful but there was a "closed" sign on the driveway and no activity. Too bad - the reviews were awesome.....

Organice produce that is beautifully farmed, but it's NYC priced. Defiantly worth going and buying your favorite veggies as this is truly fresh- not sure I can shop here for our crew of 15, but supporting local businesses is very important!

Great people, great produce, great atmosphere, great art...what else is there to say?

It's off the beaten path. Just a few minutes off hwy 101. stop in for some really fresh snacks for the drive. :)

After driving for miles over poor roads, we arrived at this attraction in the early afternoon to find it closed! I'm giving it two stars because their closed sign was cute, and the area was beautiful. Be warned. Call first and try to drive a vehicle you don't care about. Loose rock is on the road and slipping down hills...

I liked that the proprietor gave us advice and lots of samples to try. The prices are a bit high but if you want to cook something up with yummy organics or have a nice piece of fruit while at the coast then this is a good place. Beautiful garden, relaxed and wonderful atmosphere.

Barking Dog Farm is a lovely little farm. Beautiful and tranquil setting. Their produce is second to none. Purchased a few pints of raspberries and finished one of them before we made it home. It was like eating candy! The owners are very friendly and very helpful. It was a nice break from the days activities. They are a small farm, but what they have is fresher than fresh. Can't be beat!
