We took the family to see Singing in the Rain last night and what a show! It was so much fun! I adore the movie and was worried that the play might not be nearly as fun without the movie's all star cast. But Lakewood did a fantastic job and it was everything I wanted it to be! I loved that they didn't try too hard to mimic the movie, adding some different lines and even a whole new scene featuring the shrill and grating Lina Lamont in a hysterical scene all of her own. All that said, my favorite part was the rain! Yep, the Lakewood Center managed to have actual rain ON STAGE making that quintessential scene the best one of the evening. I haven't been to the Lakewood for years but I'm so glad I made it to this one. We'll be back soon!

Some very unique art in that I am not an "all art is beautiful kind of way." Especially paintings. I primarily am drawn to oils, probably because I believe that the depth of color is unmatched in watercolor etc... I typically only like some of an artists offerings. Here I found several pieces by the same artists appealing. Unique landmarks in and around to view as well. Stop in, you'll be glad you did.

This was my first visit to this lovely small theater with my friends. The quality of the acting and singing was excellent but the voices sounded a bit weird through the microphones.

We just saw another great play at Lakewood. It is small with a community feel, and always appears to operate smoothly.

many of you know we go to Lakewood with regularity -- we saw cabaret sat nite with friends -- the story of people living in Berlin in th1930s with the slow rise of the nazis. Berlin was was considered decadent in that time --- the story revolves around the people associated with the Kit Kat Club -- a song and dance club The actors and actresses are all fantastic dancers and wonderful singers -- Chuck Ketter plays the emcee at the club and his versatility is worthy of NYC The very end of the production is very different leaving the audience in silence dont miss it i
