About
The Baldwin Hotel Museum is open during the summer months, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. The building has changed very little since it opened in 1906. All four floors of the former hotel feature rooms filled with artifacts of Klamath history. Examples include a kitchen, laundry room, children's room, music, parlor, cafeteria, doctors's office, lawyer's office, school room and much more. There is no elevator, and so the building presents a number of barriers to people with impaired mobility.

My first tour of all 4 floors in several years and I found the tour absolutely fascinating. Tour guide Terri did an excellent job of narrating the various rooms, many of which had additional/new display materials. It was a warm day, but the upper floor ventilation was more than adequate and the 2 hours spent was well worth the time. If you want to learn of or more of Klamath Falls history in the first half of the 20th century, then make time for this very worthwhile experience. My compliments also go to Museum staff who have done an excellent job of displaying the history of the day. Rich Touslee

The best history of the Klamath falls area. If you enjoy learning and seeing history this is best. This museum is living history very few items are behind glass. Ask for Zeke our tour guide, he is young his family has history in the area. Great to see young Americans learning and showing the history of their area. Best hands down museum.

What an amazing tour, back in time!
My grandfather was a pioneer of Klamath Falls, in the early 1900’s. The tour brought back many memories of stories told to me by my father.
I highly recommend this museum, as well as, the Klamath Historical Museum. The displays are amazing!

I was very interested in visiting this museum. We got to town after 3pm hoping to take in as much as we could knowing they closed at 4pm. Parking is not clearly marked and there was road construction going on right in front of the building, so we had to find a place to turn around so we could go back. Nowhere did we see anything about tour times, so we unknowingly missed the last tour of the day. The desk staff was extremely rude and not at all helpful. We spent a few minutes looking around the main floor when the street construction crew came in and asked for a tour. She eagerly invited them for a walk through. She told the other staff member to lock the door when we left without addressing us at all while she took the road crew upstairs. So rude.
What we did see of the museum (main floor only) was very interesting, though.

My favorite part of visiting this museum was finding out that "Nancy", our tour guide was the widow of the man I had been so intrigued by after reading about him the day before at the Klamath Falls County Museum!! She had asked us what we had done so far during our visit to K Falls, and I told her we'd been to the County Museum the day before, and she said, "Oh, you must have seen my husband's display!" She then said his name and I looked at her, then at her name, and almost shouted, "You're his Nancy!" The whole story came together as she told us more about his story, his life, and their long marriage. We got a much longer tour than we signed up for, and because she took us to all the four floors of the hotel, we gave them more money in their jar as we were leaving. This hotel museum will always be one of our favorites because of her and the info she shared with us about the history of the hotel. It was truly a wonderful museum tour!!

This place is amazing. We were shown around by Melinda, a charming woman who knows seemingly everything about the hotel and Klamath Falls history. The building has been kept in its early 1900s condition, and is fascinating architecturally. There are four floors, each one a marvel. Beyond the architecture, there are rooms full of antiques from the era that are displayed beautifully--and simply, not under plexiglass and such. Best part of our trip to KF. Highly recommended.

This hotel/museum 2 hour tour will forever be one of our favorite museum tours ever. Linda and Melinda, the docents/tour guides, could answer all of our questions. Their love for this old hotel made us love it too. There is a great mix of pieces original to the museum and donated pieces that depict the life and times of the hotel's heyday. To us, this is a "can't miss" when visiting Klamath Falls.

We really enjoyed our visit! The building is beautiful and their collection is large, varied, and really interesting! Our guide, Mel, shared information in a way that felt like story-telling and brought the experience to life for our family.

To see an old wooden hotel as it was in the 1800’s is an amazing experience! Each room of the four story hotel was thoughtfully decorated in historic themes!
Don’t miss it! It’s a TRUE GEM. A time capsule.
The volunteers are dedicated and very interesting.

We took the two hour tour and Melinda was our guide. She was a delight. So much knowledge and love of the place and all its wonderful stories. Every one of the four floors has a different feel and a different set of wonders. If you can do only one museum stop in Klamath, make this the one.

What percentage of furnishings original to the hotel does the museum possess?

Is the building handicap accessible?
Written September 13, 2017
So sorry we were not aware of your question!
The building, largely unaltered since its construction in 1905, presents numerous barriers – mostly in the form of stairs. There are a couple of stairs at the front entrance into the lobby. The upper three floors are accessible only by climbing stairs.
