The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Each room was clean, organized and had a different theme. It is a great place to take children with interactive displays. Our children enjoyed the big Eagle nest upstair to play in and we all learned new facts about the Wallowa Area. Would definitely recommend stopping by for a visit.

The place is not fancy but they have many interactive and informative displays. Also amazed at the young artists' paintings! We enjoyed it!

A beautiful educational center in the picturesque town of Joseph, Oregon! Amazing exhibits of the region’s wildlife and ecosystems. Wallowa County is a special place and this discovery center shows you why. Gorgeous photography, interactive exhibits, great explanations.

Knowledgeable staff, good exhibits about geology, flora and fauna. Bright, clean, each room has a different emphasis. Small, but packed with loads of information. A good way to start your visit to the Wallowa area so you know what you're looking at later on.

I dropped in last summer and was really shocked at how much I didn't know after having lived here for 8+ years! It is full of useful, interesting information that is an enjoyable stop for any and all visitors (as well as those of us who live here). It really adds to understanding this wild county you are visiting or living in. I travel all over and I really enjoy these types of places to get a "feel" for the place I'm visiting. I'm very glad that we now have one of our own (it has been there at least a year or more, but I hadn't stopped by and I don't review places I haven't experienced myself).

This is a small but nice introduction to the geology and ecology of the Wallowa Mountains. A great place to take visitors, a good intro to what to expect in hiking the mountains, and a fine way of identifying some of the more unusual birds, trees, rocks, or creatures you may encounter.

The exhibits cover the land, and water, air, and land animals. They are very well exhibited and easy to understand. Staff were very helpful. Don't miss it to get a good idea of what the landscapes in and around Wallowa Valley are.

We spent a couple of hours in the Museum and learned so much about the geology, trees, animals and history of the area. My grandson had many questions and the lady was very knowledgeable.

Very informative about conservation/environment/animals/geography of the area. I have been to similar museums in other places that always charge and are not always as good as this one. It is funded by several non-profits including the Nature Conservancy (donate if you can, it is a great cause). There are some special areas for young children. Beautiful exhibits that provide a lot of information about this incredible area of the country. A young man that worked there was very friendly and helpful.

Interesting little place with info on local wildlife and geology. Probably best for little kids. Only need a half hour or less to see it all.
