About
Red Lily Vineyards is committed to a single goal -- producing the finest Spanish-inspired wines possible. We fell in love with Spanish wines years ago, particularly Tempranillo and its brooding, earthy character, and chose to make these wines our focus. Red Lily Vineyards is named principally for Bolander's Lily, a rare species of red lily found in the neighboring Siskiyou Mountains. However, it also has another, more special meaning. Our daughter is named Lily and among her many, incredible attributes, she shares our love of wine.

A beautiful, seemingly newly built winery with some good reds. The scenery is gorgeous - right next to a river. The tasting room was well heated for winter, and there were heaters and a fireplace on the patios. Nice visit!

Beautiful setting and fabulous food. However they were clearly under staffed, which is never a good thing. The wine was very one dimensional. If you like sweet Tempranillo wines then this is your spot. It was a big pass for me. No thank you. Skip the Spanish style wines!

We had rented a car and in my estimation that is the way to go to this area. We made a day out of driving through this beautiful, quiet rural area and came upon this lovely winery by the river. They have picnic tables right by the river with weeping willows surrounding the area. There is wine tasting and they are known for their red wines like Merlots. It is a very smooth, robust wine. We brought a few bottles home and everyone liked the wine. I liked the atmosphere as well.

Charming grounds right on the Applegate River. It was a beautiful fall day and they had the fireplace going so we could even sit on the patio. In warm weather there are chairs all along the River bank. We had fun tasting their wines (love Lily Girl Rose) and then had a giant tray of cheeses and breads to snack on. Brie, cheddar, olives, hummus, plus carrot-coconut soup...Yum.

Found this place while driving through from Crater lake to Eureka, although needed a slight deviation to get there. Benefit was it was open by 11 and didn't require reservations during the Covid 19 Pandemic. So glad we found it, very cute setting near the river. They gave us the wines in test tubes and we bought a boxed lunch then headed down to the tables alongside the river. Wines were very good Spanish stye, boxed sandwich was good as well!

During our visit to Grants Pass, our friends took us to their favorite local winery, Red Lily, for an afternoon of wine and outdoor relaxation. The winery sits on the Applegate River, and has seating near the river, with an outdoor wine kiosk for those who want to sip something while enjoying the lovely grounds, landscaped with flowers and a one lane bridge crossing the river. The tasting room is very friendly, with choices of tasting flights or ordering bottles with appetizers. Our party chose the latter. We enjoyed the Red Blanket Tempranillo and Lily Girl Rose during our stay, with some bruschetta. We sat in a shaded barn-like structure to enjoy our food and drink, then moving to the riverside, sitting at a picnic table and taking in the cooler breeze from the water on a hot Sunday afternoon. I can see why this is our friends’ favorite winery to visit – a lovely estate with an inviting tasting room, and tranquil outdoor sitting area to enjoy good wine with the warm weather! What a great way to spend an afternoon!

Atmosphere is wonderful. Food is awesome. Wine is excellent. Will go back again and again. Outdoor seating or indoor. Small groups or large. They are very accomodating.

This winery has a beautiful setting along the Applegate River. The wines are OK, not ones I would buy but drinkable at the very pleasant tasting room. Our experience was absolutely ruined by the manager on duty, who is rude, arrogant and seems to think she is running a soup kitchen for derelicts. Perhaps she should take remedial lessons in manners. Unfortunately, she is so officious that you can't avoid her no matter how hard you try, so go to one of the many other fine wineries in the Applegate Valley. I recommend Schmidt and Valley View. The wine stewards at the latter are the best I've found.

At Red Lily, we strive to provide all of our guests with a positive experience. As part of that effort, we welcome customers and their dogs, though we do require that dogs be kept on a leash at all times. Even the best trained dog may sometimes get excited and jump on someone, or cause other problems. The customer in question was visiting Red Lily and brought along their dog. However, they did not have their dog on a leash. Our manager observed this and politely informed the customer of our leash policy, as well as the reasons why. Unfortunately, the customer became agitated and left the premises, stating that he would write a negative online review. We sincerely apologize if the customer felt the request for his dog to be leashed was unfair, or was communicated in a rude or arrogant manner. Anyone who knows the manager would know she is neither of those things.

This was a lovely place for a wine tasting -- big welcoming porch with a light breeze coming off the creek. We did both tasting flights, but we much preferred the dessert wines. Friendly staff, but not terribly knowledgable about the wines. They did have a small amount of food offerings as well, which seemed to be unique amongst the wineries in this region -- wish we'd had the chance to sample. All in all, a very nice experience.

The easiest way is to call the tasting room staff (541-846-6800) between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm and let them know when you would like to do the tour (best to provide 2 or 3 choices). They'll check with the winemaker, Rachael Martin, to see if she is available and then get back to you.
