Make it a destination. Head five miles or more up the road to a great view of Hell’s Canyon.

Something out of the Wild West
May 2020
There is no cell service in the town, but this 100+ year old place had it all. Traditional country store with groceries on one side and a bar on the other side, with plenty of taxidermy, snarky signs, free pool table, and John Wayne movies on the TV. They also have an ongoing "Rattlesnake Competition" wherein locals bring in snakes in exchange for prizes and the tavern converts the snakes into stuff to sell to tourists. "No Live Snakes" read the signs. If you are ever in Imnaha, I highly recommend stopping in for a true slice of Americana.

Great stop and snack on a hot day
Sep 2017 • Friends
A day trip to Imnaha on a motorcycle. The ride down to Imnaha is a fun one - great scenery, good road, and nice twisty turns. We stopped at the tavern to get a drink and a snack. The service was very friendly. We simply ordered a basket of french fries and some cold soda's. The fries were hot, crunchy and soft inside - perfect. The tavern serves as a general store too so it was interesting to see what was for sale. They got a lot of varied stuff. Although I didn't order a burger they looked great. An FYI... whatever the temperature is in Enterprise add 10-15 degrees warmer when you get to Imnaha.

Only place we found close to Hat Point

A great place to stretch your legs and wash the dust off your face from driving on the gravel roads. Didn't stop for a meal, but rather a couple of cool drinks and some snacks for the trail. But it was a unique store/restaurant. I especially liked the sign at the cash register with all the locals noting how many rattlesnakes that had seen so far this season. I was on the lookout for snakes the rest of the day.

Swung in here with a friend after several hours on gravel roads. Had a few beers, shot some pool (still 25 cents), and took in the ambience. It was like travelling back in time, looking at all the pictures from this places long and rich history. Very unique, no frills, location. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area. Be warned that the closest gas station is in Joseph, so if you plan on exploring Hells Canyon and hitting up Imnaha, get on the road with a full tank of gas!

Great Burger

A little hole in the wall convenience store, bar and grill that looks like it has been for a hundred years. The burger was really good with fresh lettuce and tomato. For being the only place in town it was a surprisingly good find.

Unique Old Store
Jun 2016 • Solo
Enjoyed the drive down the canyon from Joseph to this very remote little town. This store has been in operation since 1904 and feels like stepping back in time. One side is a small general store, while the other side has a bar, with some wooden bench seating at tables in the middle. I just had some chips and a drink, but they also serve other food. There were several locals having lunch and I enjoyed a nice visit with one of the employees working the bar. It's worth the stop if you drive all the way down here.
