5 out of 5 would recommend.
We played the back nine and we were told it is not as kept up or maintained as the front nine.
But is was in great condition and the fairways and greens were very nice.
I liked the back nine because its out of the way and more secluded than the front nine.
The lay out is a good challenge and it's not an easy course.
The design is so cool for someone who plays more standard courses.
This course has large elevation changes and some good challenges to keep it interesting.
If you are new to golf and looking for something easy I would choose the front nine.
The greens seem to have kept the water from a rain storm they had a few days previous. I believe they are clay underneath and may hold water because of that.
We talked to the maintenance team that was still working and they were very friendly.
We also went to the restaurant and had a great time.
Basically all restaurants are very short staffed right now in Oregon so expect longer wait times and tip well to the people that are working.
And the green fees were a good price for a course like this.
I have seen lesser courses charge more.

Will never return. We were a group of 4 with two newer players. We were moving a little slow but was not holding up any players. The golf Marshall very rude and aggressively told us we were VERY behind and continue to berate us for not keeping time. Mind you we were playing as fast as we could, and holding up no players. Two of our members ended up quitting bye hole 6 due to the harassment. When we finished we watched the same guy yell at another group, he got into a young girl's face so close she pushed him.
They had no customers service and clearly did not care. They had no interest in apologizing or trying to make it right.
Do not wast your money here.

Just got home from a round of golf at Hood River Golf and Country Club. We really enjoyed the splendor and beauty of the back nine course. Absolutely one of the most beautiful courses I have played. It is more difficult than most, but very rewarding at the same time. The proprietors/Managers were very kind and gracious to us and we appreciated their humor and personality. We live 2 hours away, but we will be returning very soon. Just don't want anyone else to find out about it. Really, really recommend this to anyone who enjoys golf!

Horrible staff. Horrible is actually being too nice. I'd give it a zero if possible. Rename it to Hood River Goat Track so as to not misrepresent it. The only redeeming quality is the business they rent space to, Phelps Creek Vineyards tasting room. This is in a separate building and has no affiliation with the goat track. I have witnessed the owners being jerks to well behaved kids/families so if you must play here definitely don't bring juniors.

Was quite disappointed when we arrived on the property. "Country Club" brings to mind a top notch upscale facility. Not here. The only "country" part of the course was it was outside of town in the country. Under whelming pro shop, in an old country building. Very minimal and unassuming driving range. The course was relatively well marked for yardage, but the fairways were some of the toughest I have ever played! Very hilly, a lot of uphill holes (one was 150 yards and uphill about 70-90 feet to a small green!) The view of the mountains on a sunny day was very good from several holes, but not good enough to offset the difficulty of playing the course. Some of the greens were so sloped, they were almost unplayable. A couple fairways disappeared around corners and hills that were extremely difficult to negotiate. Golf carts should be 4 wheel drive, as steep terrain and gravel, with sharp corners when you do not expect them. When you arrive almost to the highest peak on the course, you see a sign "Danger, be aware of mountain lions", that adds another brick on the stack for the round, especially when it is difficult to begin with. Just a very difficult course to play. Probably not able to update the club house due to lack of play. A bit expensive for the area, just not an enjoyable day golfing.

The course is fun and pretty!
The managers of the pro shop are rude and seem to enjoy being that way to guests.
They have zero customer service skills.
They are the reason we will not return. I hope they are not the owners. They should both be fired.

We liked the course. Experiencing the guy at the pro shop was pretty negative for all of us numerous times. He needs to work a job where he doesn't need to be around people.

We went here for the lovely view of Mt. Hood and the nice green surroundings. I give this 5 stars.
They have a nice , large patio to enjoy the outside in this lovely town.
The food is just average so would not go back to dine. I will go back to have a glass of wine and enjoy the scenery.

The food was so bad. White wonder bread bread with a slice of cheese on a plate with a sliver of a dill pickle. Spinach Artichoke Dip with 50% mayonnaise. Prime Rib with tons of fat. There is nothing good to say. Just plain BAD.
Bad bowling alley food! No talent. No imagination. Bad Bad Bad.
Don't waste your money.

The staff was excellent. We had made reservations for 25 but more showed up. They went out of their way to accommodate us. I must admit getting our food was a little slow but they only have one cook. We knew in advance that fact so we sat back and enjoyed ourselves.
When people think of country club they think swank but this is Hood River. Every time we have been there the food has been excellent. I would definitely recommend Tabby's - just don't expect to have your food served within 5 minutes after you order.
