When the attraction says Mt Hood Railroad, we expected it to go up Mt Hood. No, it goes along the Hood River Valley on very old tracks. The train loped along at maybe 20 mph max, constantly swayed back and forth. Old, musty smelling cars....More

Went on a ride as a new Oregonian and had a great time. Was a relaxing way to see Hood River and Mt Hood, while learning a little bit about the area.

Although the ride was comfortable, the view was blocked by trees much of the way. The orchards got boring and the stop, Parkdale was snoozeville.

For starters, I drove up to the Hood River Railroad and was greeted by what looked like some kind of third world obstacle course for parking filled with very negative signage. There were barriers everywhere made of steel and cement and even sections were roped...More

Well, I would not attempt to bring any out of town guests to the Mt Hood Railroad for a scenic ride because the parking situation is unbelievably awful. The concrete barricades and steel bars make the whole place very unwelcoming. What an eye sore for...More
