Franco Marchesi's passion for wine began in his hometown of Borgosesia,...

Franco Marchesi's passion for wine began in his hometown of Borgosesia, Peimonte, Italy. As a child he always wondered what it would be like to be a winemaker like his grandfather Achille. After running his own import company specializing in Italian wines for over 20 years, Franco began planting his favorite Northern Italian grapes in Hood River, where the climate and soil are just like Northern Italy. Please come visit, and taste our wines. Salute!

Having asked a waitress for suggestions on a vineyard in the area, she directed us to this fabulous spot. Beyond the breathtaking view at Marchesi, and the wonderful flight of wines for tasting, this was like no other vineyard that we have been to. Tables are set up outside, with fabulous bread sticks already on the table for you to... More

There are many great wineries in and around Hood River but this one is my favorite. Great wines and first class antipasti offerings! Oh, and Franco is pretty cool too.

We visited 6 different wineries in the area over the weekend, this one was my least favorite. Wine was good, wasn't crazy about the atmosphere. Super busy, tasters all crammed into a small area. Long lines to use the bathroom. People were loud. It didn't feel like I was at a winery, more like a busy bar.

Fun place. But pushy with their tasting fees. Wine was ok. Service good. But would back off on nickel and dime approach. Scenery was awesome.

My husband and I stopped by today, Sunday. We were greeted immediately upon entering the winery. We opted to split a $10 tasting of 6 wines which was plenty to share. We started our tasting inside, but upon recommendation from the staff we found a spot outside to complete our tasting. Our spot was a shaded table with water misters... More

We were on a bike tour that brought us here. There were great nooks all over to sit at, tables and couches. The wines were great, the bread and cheese board yummy.... our only criticism was that the we're understaffed. There were probably 30 people there and only one server.

Once again, Franco and Sandi Marchesi provided us with their hospitality and a great place to unwind after a hectic weekend. The wine, service and atmosphere is always a huge draw. The servers were always on hand to give you your next pour, without hurrying you along. It was just a nice relaxing day. I like the fact you can... More

If you are in the area, don't miss this winery if you are a lover or even a liker, of good wines. We had beautiful weather the day we were there and because of that, they were pretty busy for a weekday. And there was only one very hard working employee to assist. But she did a great job and... What a lovely day! The wines are well crafted and the prosecco and barbera are exceptionally noteworthy. The wooden cutting board of bread, cheese and salami is a welcome touch and we love the ample seating with views to vineyards and and valley. The resident cats are charming, and I'm a dog person! We'll return again and again!

These wines are ok but nothing to write home about. Service by staff pourer left a lot to be desired. Wine descriptions were obviously just memorized.
