The Hood River at this location has a natural wind that runs along the river that provides a perfect place to windsurf and kite surf. One morning, we counted over 25 windsurfers in a short span of the river outside our hotel room. Beautiful scenery,...More

You should leave time to drive both sides of the gorge. The views are different as is the climate. One green, one dry. Love this place. Windsurfing awesome too.

Hood River is a quaint town with some nice shops and restaurants but the best part is the river and surrounding area. You can rent kayaks, jet skis, paddle boards etc., go on endless hikes. Our challenge was the heat: today was 38 C.
